I checked my Air filter at 11k and it still looks brand new -
It's a small maintenance cost to ensure it's breathing well. I see a decent bit of dusty gravel roads that cause some bad air.

Cannot replicate = did not try = lazy service department

BTW, one source tracked down the dash rattle to the passenger side speaker grill. He placed folded paper at differt parts of the dash to locate the source, and used folded paper to fix the noise. Hope that helps

I see all kinds of dirt roads and the interior of the Maverick with it's less than awesome door seals sees a ton of dust - Surprised the air filter looks relatively clean. Which PN filter are u using ?

Just a little word of warning to those who are lurking and considering buying a maverick.
I have a very early 2022 XL hybrid that I took delivery on in Dec 2021 that is now approaching 40k miles.
I really wanted to like this little pickup but the mounting issues are really chipping away at my satisfaction and confidence.
These are the issues I have had to date. Some have been resolved and others are still lingering with no apparent solution.

Be prepared for ALOT of headaches. These things are trouble. I have had pretty much every problem known.

RESOLVED ISSUES
1. Engine fire recall. Complete. Ford actually came to my house to do repair
2. Airbag recall. Done at dealership and I even received a nice YETI tumbler for my trouble.
3. Remote start catalytic converter overheating. Done at dealership.
4. Grabby brakes @ low speed. Took a year and a half but Ford finally released a fix and it is much better. Still not 100% but I can live with it.
5. EGR System failure. Repaired at dealer under warranty.

UNRESOLVED:
1. Dash Rattle: Requested repair @ dealer, Noise cannot be replicated.
2. Battery drain due to vehicle staying powered up with key out: Sometime when turning off vehicle and removing key everything stays powered on. Vehicle cannot be driven but dash stays illuminated, heat/ac works, radio works, etc. Vehicle apparently stays in this mode until battery dies. IF you catch it and reinsert key condition goes away. DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE
3. Customer satisfaction program 22B39 12v battery drain. WAITING ON PARTS
4. SAFETY RECALL 23S27 : Apparently the 1st fire recall fix is not sufficient. WAITING ON FIX FROM FORD
5. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION surge @ idle: In colder weather with car in drive but stopped, there is a surge that feels like the car is trying to move forward. It goes away after a short warmup, but it is a very unsettling feeling. DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY DRIVE CYCLE
6. Loud Engine rattle/shake: In cold winter temps once in a while with ICE engine running there is a very loud rattle coming from driver side engine bay. A very noticable shake is also present. Sounds Horrific. I have not been able to pinpoint where noise is coming from because when car is put in Park and I exit vehicle to investigate, ICE engine shuts down. DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE
7. Electrical/weird issues: The other day I parked, turned off vehicle, key out and exited car. About a minute later the radio turned on at full volume and could not be turned off or down until the key was inserted and vehicle turned on. HAVE NOT BROUGHT TO DEALER. OUT OF WARRANTY
8. Vehicle routinely goes into deep sleep mode. Not sure that this is really a problem, but sometimes it happens multiple times per day.

All that being said there are things that I absolutely love about the Maverick. Its pleasant to drive, gets great fuel economy, and is fairly utilitarian.
I have 3 Ford products in my driveway and really want to stay a loyal Ford customer, but man this little Maverick is making that hard to do.
What dealership are you going to for service? Sounds like they aren't putting much effort into figuring out what is going on. I would try taking it to another dealership to check out.

This is the kind of thing that scares me about my next vehicle .... 100K miles is not really a lot anymore especially after almost 10 years and 207K trouble free miles in my current ride.
Yeah 100k is nothing. Most of my rides easily reached 200k. Don't drive as much now but hope that's not the benchmark.

I have been to multiple dealers hoping to come across one that is a little more attentive to my issues, however, ....no luck.
Regarding lemon laws, correct me if I'm wrong but that only applies when something is not able to be fixed, or you have the same problem 4 times.
I think the old " cannot replicate" is a way basically say that the problem does not exist and send you packing. No that the base warranty has expired I'll see how it goes and if its too painful, she'll be sent down the road.

My 2022 hybrid is in for 1 wk and today ford said another wk or longer until the 2 people doing recalls can get to it. 3rd try for airbags- they lose the parts? Will be a fun wait for the parts for the engine FIRE!

It's in the title, they've got 38K on it. Factory warranty is 3yr/36K (whichever comes first). Hybrid components do have 8yr/100k coverage though.

Have you tried going for a test drive w/ someone from the service department, so you can show them what the issue is?? YOU drive. If the engine surge happens then, they can certainly observe it. And you both will know it.

You still have powertrain coverage.

Recalls aside, it sounds like OP got a lemon. I would've returned it under lemon laws, long before it racked up that many miles.
It was a very early production Maverick that they got in December of 2021 which could account for some of the problems.

With that history I would have bought an extended warranty before it hit 36k miles while I could if I wanted to keep it.

If I had a Maverick with that many unresolved problems and I still wanted a Maverick I would take a hard look at ordering a 2024 and then deciding if it made sense to replace it or not when the 2024 arrived. The used car market has softened but they are still selling for a good price so it might not cost that much to upgrade to a new car which might have fewer problems.
