I know there are MANY threads on this, but I think I have to hit that point of confusion. I am looking to replace the stock continentals and wanted to ask other hybrid drivers opinions on new tires.
  • The Goal: Adding some aggressive look, while keeping the weight down. I would like to bump up one size, but that is certainly not necessary if it will destroy MPG. A little loss is not a big deal. I am also keeping the stock 2022 XLT rims.
  • Driving Conditions: I just moved down to South Texas. Most driving will be on pavement, but possibly some light, non aggressive beach driving.
  • Suggestions from MTC: Some I have seen are the Toyo Open Country A/T III, Dextero AT, Falcon AT Trails. All at 235.
Are there any specific recommendations anyone has? Appreciate the help!

My continental not quite there yet but when they do I'll probably put on the Firestone Wintergrips AS which are Sypped.

When it comes time for me to switch I'll be looking to keep everything the same but I'll hope to find something that gives a better ride. I already have spare wheels with Blizzaks mounted on them that were great in the snow.

I just ordered some Hankook Kinergy ST

I can order now for price protection, and nice note, installation fee is also locked in today. (If tariffs go nuts, some places may raise installation fees to mask the price increases from tariffs.)

Kinergy tires are low rolling resistance, all season tires. I got them expecting high MPG from them. I'm never in snow.

ST version comes 8.8/32 with 6 year / 70,000 mile treadlife warranty.
24 pounds per tire

PT version comes 11.3/32 with 6 year / 90,000 mile treadlife warranty.
26 pounds per tire

ST $137.99 each
PT $165.99 each

I locked in $16 per tire mounting fee at time of purchase. Will install them this summer unless I get some damage or something sooner. So no data on ride yet.

My stock tires are at 3/32" @ 36,000 mile. Which is what you'd expect from a stock "economy" vehicle.

Let me know if they ride any better than the Continentals.
