So this will give another 1/2 inch of ground clearance, is that correct?

Great look....either way.

Correct. So 8.8” based off Fords measurements.

My obsession is load rating..depending on which tires 225/65/17=102H, 235/65/17=104H 245/65/17=108T(different tire and about 36lbs) among other things +/-
A quick glance at 235/70 shows 108T - 111T and 235/75 shows 109T.

Skinnier tires are more likely to fit without rubbing and 235/75 on the Mav would get you to 9.5" of ground clearance. Some of the A/T tires are only 33 lbs.

I can’t say with certainty because I haven’t actually tried it but based off what I’m seeing with my own truck with 245/65’s, I do not think that 235/75 would fit. That’s about 1.5” of extra diameter and I think you’d be all over the inner fenders, seam welds and suspension.

I am getting hybrid, don't know anything about how they handle life, so are only comfortable stepping up to 29.1" from 28.5" for now. Due to roads I use I am liking bfg trail terrain 235/65/r17 2205lb load 9.4" width on 7" wheel 12.51 tread depth 60k warranty. Don't know if it's correct or not but I think I read somewhere that the max tire size allowed by ford's software for speedometer calibration was 245/70/r17. Hybrid or ice? Does any one know what the speed at 70 reading on hybrid is 68.75-69? My frontier was low about 2.4 mph at 70.

Anyone know if any tire shop in CA can give credits for the new factory tires? I want to switch to 245/65/17 as well but when I called around no one is paying a penny for the new factory tires.

I’m curious to see how much clearance is remaining at full turn lock in each direction with the 245/65/17 sized tires. I’d be interested in adding splash guards.

Awful picture while she’s dirty but just wanted to feed everyone some content until I can get some better pictures and do a more in depth review. Ride is great, noise is minimal and fitment has no rubs or trimming required. Again, I will go more in depth with everything later this evening/tonight, today has been busy for me.

Thanks for letting me know, just looking at the images it looks as if it would be an easy fit. Looks can be deceiving.

I tried on the Discount tire website. It shows the 245 ones don't fit Maverick. Did you go straight to the local store and make the order?

Thanks.

I'm sure it says that only because its not a factory spec but if you look at the biggest wheel available and match it up to the 245s, you will see the 245 be slightly smaller. I use Tacoma Worlds tire calculator to see the side by side and overlayed comparisons.

My 245/65/17 tires (Toyo A3) were installed at NTB, and they initially believed they would not fit and would rub. This information was based on the OEM tire size 225/65/17 and 235 optional tire size. Tires were mounted without any issues or rubbing.

Yeah they look super close at 235. Toyo actually listed as 3lbs heavier. Falkens sound like they may be quieter but I am a little put off at the fact that it sounds like the 235 do not have the same design as the larger sizes of Wildpeak do. Toyo also have higher mileage warranty
60,000 mile I believe.
