2025 New Ecoboost engine

So just read an article on the New 2.0 Ecoboost changes to the 2025. Question is this, How do you now you have the new style Ecoboost engine? Mine was made back in Fed 2025 and can’t tell if the nwe one was installed that early in the production year. Asking because It might come up when ordering parts for the engine in the future.

If you have a 2025, you have a new engine.

If you have a 22-24, you do not.

This isn't GM; they aren't switching motors halfway through the production year. All '25 EcoBoosts are the new MPC design.

you also do NOT have the GPF. this does not get installed until job3 this summer.

I was hoping it was that easy, but have owned vehicles in the past that had major changes mid year production.

Gasoline Particulate Filter- for emissions in CARB states. This was originally thought to reduce hp by 12, after further testing, this is not the case. 250 hp just like before but, with an all new MPC engine that was started with 2.3L eco boost in 2024 Mustang.

We have put 9.000 kms on our truck so far. By the seat of my pants I feel the new engine has more power than the old one and with still breaking in the engine the fuel economy is 10% better than our old 2022 1st edition. Both trucks are spec'd the same as far as i know. Only difference is the tires.

...for an XL FWD hybrid, and it could be argued that it was underpriced.

It's like saying, "Your F-150 King Ranch was $75k? My F-150 was only $45k...for a 2WD XL with rubber floors."

The new 2025 EB is nearing the end of it’s first production year. So far, no recalls yay.

But a couple forum members have already had fuel delivery issues with the new Port/Direct injection system. The new 1.5 EB out of Hermosillo has already had a defective injector recall.

That said, Ford had reasons to add the new Port/Direct system - so MY 2024 and earlier should not take glee in the 2025 issues. Change your oil at least every 5000 miles like the engineers say in the small print. Don’t be fooled by Sales/Marketing who preach 10,000 to reduce the all important “Cost of Ownership” metric.

In addition, the 2025 EB added an aluminum valve cover instead of plastic. Don’t know why, but an oil change can’t hurt?

The engines aren't made at Hermosillo; they're produced at Chihuahua. And there isn't a recall on the 1.5 injectors, but there was a re-issue earlier this year for the 1.5 Dragon block engines' injectors and some of the new 1.5 MPC engines that may have improperly heat treated heads that can blow out oil plugs.

Point taken,but the 19995.00 initial price for a brand new truck is what intrigued me, and im sure others when this truck was first introduced. The base xl that was under 20 grand initially is now over 25 grand with the same equipment. Ford is wanting more money for the same product, understandably, but to much to fast i.m.o
