I have a 2023 xlt as well. I have a hybrid and was looking into the awd hybrid because of these michigan winters. I am still on the fence about ungrading
I'm in S Ontario and while last winter wasn't a bad one my FWD did fine even on the few really icy days just regular stock tires. If I lived in a rural area I'd go with snow tires though.

Ideally I'd like to drive a FWD and AWD hybrid back to back in the right road. To me it's not all about traction, I also assume the IRS will ride and handle better with the AWD setup

I'm happy with my FWD but if I'd had the choice I'd have gone the AWD route. Still though, am LOVING the MPG! I'm socking away the $$ I'm saving to buy fun stuff toys etc and for future truck maintenance like oil changes etc. Lol.

I'm using the gas savings as a possible justifications to buying one although obviously going from no car payment to a car payment is going to cost me more than I'm going to save. But I'm using what the Brits call man maths.....

XLT comes with push to start standard now, like the Lariat in 2022-2024. Amazing, because my 2010 base model Prius had it too. I get the cheap aesthetic but c'mon Ford lol.
If they would make that and adaptive cruise standard on all trims, they might have a vehicle fit to sell in the year 2020.

Isn't it ironic when people complain about mid-level price increases, yet they themselves buy a Lariat w/Lux, AWD and FX4?

HRG
I'm just thinking for the people who may not be in a position to buy the top trim and have to settle for the next best thing. If it keeps getting unaffordable, how is it fair on them? Not everyone is fortunate enough to buy the top-tier trim or if they are, they may not want it and just buy the mid-trim to save money or to be more practical. Just because I don't have that particular trim doesn't mean I don't have a say in it.

This just made my week. Exact color and trim I ordered. Big thanks for posting! Was a little worried about front end but I'm now at ease.

I am guessing it is because they don't know what they are talking about and have some brand loyalty. Anything not their brand isn't safe, is trash, inferior, or below them. It is something I see in the truck and off-road community. They tend to become very tribal about it.

The entire mindset of being scared at speed on the factory tires is absolutely ridiculous.

Not really, no. Some people purchasing the higher trims doesn't make complaints of price increases less valid.

A great example is my own truck. If you configure a 2025 as mine is equipped it is about $10,000 more than what I paid. ~$10,000 in less than three years is a big issue for a lot of potential buyers.

As much as I like the Maverick, I wouldn't have paid $33,000 for it. That is (was) deep into CPO Ranger, Tacoma, and Colorado territory. Or, if you are OK with a non-certified, a nice clean F-150 or Silverado.

A huge draw of the Maverick was the affordability of it. That is gone. The target market shifted because that is where the majority of buyers ended up being.

Personally I think for the most part contis are better than Goodyear. Having said that I understand personal preferences but the idea that someone's afraid to drive a modest speed on a different brand, especially an established brand, seems a little ridiculous to me

If I'm being honest though I think the Maverick looks better than those other trucks you listed. They look more truck-like but I think the Maverick looks cooler because it's more like an old school Street truck. Also is a little more subtle and modest. The Colorado in particular just looks like is trying way too hard to me. Too many different angles and stuff on a truck bed size.

Completely agree. The price of a the hybrid truck when the Maverick first hit the market was the only reason I placed an order back in 2021. I loved the cafeteria style ordering as well. I could pick and chose my options and wasn't stuck paying for what I know I wouldn't use. I don't need a bigger screen, 360 etc... What I did want was a moon roof, hybrid, and a decent sized vehicle. The Maverick was perfect at the entry price. I am still totally on the fence about trading up to an AWD hybrid at the price it would be to get the features I will use.

I thought the headlights were bad then i saw the controls under the touchscreen and the blue accents. Ill keep my low interest rate and 6 grand cheaper 22. I love my maverick. And push button start ok but why not put it where the key would go instead of way down low in the dash, one of the many reasons i didn't get the lariat besides fake leather i put katzkins in better quality and cheaper

The push button start has me a little concerned. In my current xlt that is where the usb ports are located and my knee sometimes bumps into it. I hope it won’t shut off the truck if my knee bumps it. Looks like the push button start sticks out farther than the current usb port… Or maybe that center stack has been raised a few inches for 25?
