2025 Maverick Lariat EcoBoost AWD - First Road Trip Impressions!

Wow!! I really love this little truck!

Took a 270 mile road trip for work today. Long Island to outside Phili via Sunrise, Belt, SI Expwy, NJ Turnpike, PA Turnpike with about 10% of the ride being what I would consider “city”.

Highway speeds between 50-80, this is a 2.0 EB. Winds were about 15-20 MPH.

With Co Pilot the car basically drove itself and did a great job, was my first experience. Anyone know how to prevent it from slowing down the car when I guess it’s reading speed signs?

Overall handling was great, very close to my Edge, sound system is wonderful, and I found the seats to be very comfortable.

That is fantastic gas mileage for your Maverick (during the break-in period). Once it is broken-in, it will be even higher. What octane is the gas that you are using?

Not bad considering you're in the break-in period and having AWD standard on the Lariat trim. The highway is where the Ecoboosts excel. Just today, I took it on the highway and reset the fuel economy since I normally drive city to and from work. I was able to get it up to 35 mpg. Once I got back into town, I was still getting 28 and some change. These are great, efficient little trucks.

glad you're enjoying it. that (nearly) self-driving is actually adaptive cruise, the distinction is that a lot of mavericks have copilot 360 which is the lane keeping and blind spot monitoring functionality.

missed that question and you're correct.

it's slowing down based on radar and camera-based follow distance. the distance can be set with the button on the left side of the steering wheel.

87 Octane

I thought I heard on one of @fordvideoguy videos that the Lariat has speed sign recognition which can be set to change the cruise control to the posted speed limit. There is also a setting for how far over the posted limit it can go.

I just rewatched the trim difference video he did, and he said he thinks it does, but he wasn't sure. However, an owner of a Lariat should be able to find that setting.

A different dealer site does say it has it. What Advanced Technology Does the 2025 Ford Maverick Offer?

I will set it for 3-4 above and rock and roll. I wonder if it keeps those settings permanently, meaning every time you get in, and set cruise, it remembers. (I think it would?) that is sweet though for real. will make driving more comfortable for long distances.

it's just going to color the sign differently when you're speeding. actually changing the cruise speed based on signs requires Blue Cruise.

what is blue cruise, is this a subscription?

I would love for a lariat 25 owner to chime in and see if they've seen anything about this in settings.

From the online manual this is how you turn it off, if it anything like my 2022 Bronco Sport it will also have options in the same menus for adjusting the speed. And yes it does change the cruise speed based on a speed limit sign. Just be warned that if it happens to pick up on a sign for a side road you might find yourself going from 65 to 45, this happened to me on many an occasion so I just turned the feature off in the menu.

SWITCHING PREDICTIVE SPEED ASSIST MODE ON AND OFF


From the driver assistance menu, press Cruise Control. See Driver Assistance Menu.
Press Adaptive Cruise Control.
Switch Predictive Speed Assist on or off.
