Hmm... they clearly haven't read much here about the actual fuel tank size and the top off debate.
Wonder if they've reached the recommended 1k miles for break in yet? I think that'd be wise before conquering the Ike Gauntlet.

They are also doing the test in the coldest months with winter gas. You will always get worse mpg in the winter.

TFL really bringing the content when nobody else is.

buying their own truck and talking to the dealership to set priority to ensure they got it built as early as possible has made a difference for sure!

lol... comparing one test done in the summer, and one done in the winter, is about as foolish as it gets....🤣 And then claiming a city loop test is too hard to duplicate... 😱

The Youtubers have to get views to pay for the vehicles, which is why they just want to be first out with content and will take what ever is first available. What they don't mention is altitude they are at, temps and at what speed they are traveling at...looks like I saw 55?
No reason to top off...what do you add? .3 gal? Not worth the time or possible damage to the evap system.

What they don't mention is altitude they are at
denver colorado. 5280 feet elevation. I believe they drive the speed limit on all areas for consistency. the limit is 55 in a few highway segments near downtown, but 65 and 70 in others.

It was actually mentioned around 19:10 in the video that the mileage may change after break in.

Understood, I referenced reaching break in miles before conquering the Ike Gauntlet.

Watching this just shows me how much Ford could've done a better job on this refresh. Instead of all the digital screens and control layout changes which require wiring harness changes, they could have just updated the Infotainment screen and provided a second base interior color to the blue such as black so the interior didn't clash with exterior colors like the green and us earlier owners could've upgraded to the new larger screen.
But NOOOO, we have to go all digital touch ala iPhone for the youngsters who don't like physical buttons. Is that what marketing said Maverick buyers want???

Hard to explain and colors are a personal choice but the Lariat interior is much more muted than photos show and I don’t find that it clashes with EG at all

This is simply a data point to consider. I won’t know the efficiency of my AWD Hybrid 4K tow until closer to 5k miles after I’ve tracked it in Feuly.

wish it would have done a smidge better but oh well.

If going for pure fuel efficiency on a road trip, sure a diesel is likely to win.

If going for fuel efficiency with consideration for price at the pump (diesel is like $0.30 more per gallon where I am), then the comparison between the Maverick and a diesel pickup on a road trip becomes more even.

If hyper-miling and driving to optimize the electric miles as much as possible, I believe the Maverick could have destroyed their previous record for 100-mile efficiency.
