I went from a full-sized Dodge Ram to a Maverick, and the radio and sirens that were installed were too much of a space hog to set up in the Maverick. SO I downsized the equipment and made it work.

Good job and thank you for your service!!! I was a volunteer firefighter and paramedic in my community for almost 20 years, started way back in the mid 70's. An experience I enjoyed and have great memories. Saw a lot of gruesome stuff but there's nothing better than the experience of helping others.

I am paid per call, so technically I am a town employee. The total volunteer part is basically a thing of the past, except in really rural areas.

I mean if you're in NW Arkansas, outside of Bentonville (which I hope isn't VFD)....you're pretty rural no? Fully admit I am ignorant to the population of NW Arkansas but figured it to be mostly the Ozarks.

Yes, we run lights and sirens, and I keep the gear warm and dry in the back.

We are paid by the hour and our pay is based on certifications.

I've posted this a number of times over the last few years, but you may not have seen it. It's the dimensions of the bed slots in case you want to cut some boards to fit so you can keep your stuff from rolling around. Thanks for what you do.

I think you can classify that area as really rural. Last year when my wife and I drove up to see the elk. We were in need of a restroom and it took us 45 minutes to find a public restroom. After driving around for 30 minutes we finally saw a deputy sheriff and flagged him down to ask where the nearest one was. It was about 12-15 miles down the road at a little wide spot in the road. So I’d say that area is rural.
