Hello everyone,

Just joined today and making my first post. I'm a current Jeep Rubicon owner looking to trade her in for a new Maverick. There is a dealership by me that has the Hot Pepper Red Tremor in both XLT and Lariat trim levels.

I figured this would be the best place to come ask questions.

1) Would you prefer one trim over the other?
2) How far under MSRP are people paying right now since the market has cooled?

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

Hello and welcome to MTC. I can't help you on price because I'm sure it's location. By me it's far from cooled especially with the larger infotainment screen, sync 4 and offering AWD in hybrid on the 2025 model. I believe some place is offering x plan that would help on price.

On the question of XLT vs Lariat it would depend on your preferences. Personally I won't buy a vehicle with vinyl, fake leather or leather seats. I remember when all you could get was vinyl. Really appreciated the option of cloth not as cold in the winter and not as hot in the summer and not sliding around off road. Again it's personal preference some like the optional speakers and keyless start. For me that's not worth having to endure the uncomfortable material on the seats.

Hopefully someone will chime in who is offering x plan. Best of luck on your purchase and ownership of the Ford Maverick.

I have a Hot Pepper Red 2024 Maverick Lariat EB AWD 4KTow. After a month of ownership, we found the vinyl hot... and In fact, even found a full XLT Tremor cloth interior and bought it... Fast forward a few weeks and my wife and I coped with the vinyl just fine here in the Sonoran Desert of Sonora MX and Arizona USA and have never bothered to switch over to that XLT Tremor cloth interior. Go figure..

I've grown to enjoy the Adaptive Cruise and Auto Lane Centering. The B&O stereo is passable... i remember the XLT stereo sounding a bit more hollow (when I test drove one).

I enjoy the sunroof and rear sliding mirror of the my Lariat... Once the sun goes down I find myself using both. XLT won't give you an option for a rear slider at all.

Just some observations.

Excellent points, I actually had a XLT and traded it for a Lariat because I missed things like ACC and the rear sliding window. I have a Tremor so it's black ActiveX seats and really even in the NC sun they aren't hot, certainly don't seem to be much different than the cloth seats in the XLT for heat. The B&O isn't great but it's much better than stock and you do get Sync 3 which is also an improvement along with SiriusXM and Nav.

If I could go back, I would have never gotten the Lariat seats. They are hot for sure.

I like the color, and I like the overall package, but this material needs ventilation. I also like the leather "feel" and I maintain them with 303 regularly.
But, I'd 100% just get the cloth in the future if there is no ventilated option on any vehicle I buy. TBF, I've never had leather seats without ventilation before, and the Maverick is the first non leather or cloth vehicle I've owned. This material is new to me and I don't see it holding up as long even with my OCD.

What are the options between the two? It all really boils down to what you want to do and which one you like more. @TheShark made some good points about the differences.

Either way I think you'll be happy and we'll be happy to have you. Good luck, keep us posted. If you get one, start a "build log" about your journey. Pics pics pic. We love pics. Especially @fossil 's good looking vehicles lol.

I bought my xlt tremor w/ lux package a few weeks ago for $1000 off msrp here in Houston but there are other dealerships in the area not offing discounts. I'm a big fan of the simplicity of the xlt, but wouldn't mind having adaptive cruise control. That's the only feature I think lariat has that I wish I had. Other than that, I'm very happy with the xlt. The cloth seats seem durable and breath well.

I would suggest ceramic window film (whether you tint or not) to combat interior heat - especially the windshield. It makes such a difference.

I think in the end only you can really answer the question, if you have the $$ and you want the extra equipment the Lariat has and it is a considerable difference then that's the decision. If you either don't care or need the extras or don't have the $$ than that's the decision. Most people on the forum will tout whatever they own, XL owners will tell you it's all the pickup you will ever need and you are a fool for buying anything else, as a matter of fact if Ford could possibly remove some of the equipment for a cheaper price that would be great. XLT owners will tell you it's the sweet spot with cloth seats, better value, and you are a fool for buying anything else. Lariat owners will tell you it's great having ACC, sliding rear window, a stereo system from 2016 not 2001, etc. Everything comes with a price.
XL owners are at least honest, $$ is what drives the entire argument with them. I do chuckle at XLT owners and the cloth seat argument, I did have an XLT and I did like the cloth seats but honestly am I going to give up all the other things a Lariat (money aside) has for cloth seats? Buy seat covers for crying out loud.

I would most definitely go with 24 Lariat TREMOR! If u plan on keeping this truck get the options NOW! NOT CHEAP! My truck stickers at 41k. Every option but moonroof and door keypad. Plus bed cover and bed mat. I have no regrets getting Lariat TREMOR, I can now spend more time buying the little things that make my truck mine!

Welcome to MTC! I replaced my Maverick (EB) XLT w/ CP360 with a Maverick Lariat Tremor. I got it for $750 under MSRP (southern Ohio). Do I think I still paid too much for a Maverick? Yes! With that said, I tried to delude myself that I didn't need anything fancy and a $29k XLT was fine, but it was just missing too many things I'm used to having on recent vehicles, especially push button start.

Anyway, my favorite local dealer has a very attractive and nicely optioned XLT Tremor on their lot for $720 off (https://www.interstateford.com/new/...sburg-oh-7ff18796ac1854e66acdc8ee1455f8b8.htm). My personal opinion is while it's a great looking truck, it's expensive enough that you might as well step up to a Lariat. Ultimately, you have to decide what you value the most. I think whatever Maverick you pick out will be a lot more comfortable and useful than a Jeep.
