With the dates listed, EVERY MY23 Maverick produced up to February 10th with the tow package is affected by the recall.
Not with tow package only, any Maverick produced in this time frame with a factory tow hitch. Tow package has additional upgrades to raise the tow limit from 2k to 4k.

This is a pretty easy fix.

The delays for repairs should be days not weeks.

You can even buy third party "retrofit" parts online. If you can DIY, dealers can do it.

I also like the idea of putting a dealer's lock on the hitch, if you won't need it right away, so you can have your truck, and come back later for the wire install.

You'd probably have to sign some liability waivers, promise not to use the hitch, etc.

But then again, common sense is on the endangered species list.

According to the dealership, they can’t officially fix an open recall unless Ford issues an official repair. So if the recall is still on the vehicle then they are not able to release the car.

That was going to be my "Plan B", in the event the dealer could not create a fix before my May trip Up-North. Get a Curt wiring kit and install it. That could work for those that already have their Mav's, but won't help those who haven't taken delivery yet.

Well mine was built the week of 2/20/23 so I guess I dodged that bullet. We will see what's next on the recall list.

Has anyone tried running a jumper from the rear parking lamps to the hitch harness? The brown wire in the hitch harness is there.

I picked up my Lariat Lux hybrid which has a trailer hitch and it was built on 1/29 so definitely within the range. Dealer never said anything about it either.

Yes it didn't show the recall so I figured that was why. The original report didn't specify the 4k towing so I was worried they would hold it anyways.

Sweet! You escaped a sale hold! My first Maverick had the gas tank recall hold. 2 months it took them to get a damn gas tank.

Does anyone suppose that this is the reason for the constraint on the stand alone hitch? Seems to be about the same time frame of when the Hitch became a Restraint item.
I had the sales Mgr. From my Ford dealership remove the tow hitch from my order. I ordered my truck the first day orders opened last Sept. Have received 3 emails saying sorry supply problems. No vin, no build date nothing. So now my order is a stock XLT Hybrid. Anyone getting their stock XLT delivered ?
