From what I saw glancing over previous winners, they seem to favor capability (F-150, RAM trucks) and novel designs (Jeep Gladiator).

Or not. Frontier?! Their "new" model is lipstick on an old pig.

Toss up between the Tundra and the Maverick in my opinion. I think they will pick the Lucid Air for the car and the Bronco for the SUV

The list was published in September. After watching all the test drive and relative positive reviews, I think Maverick will win.
Ford democratized Trucks. Everione has a reason to need a maverick;-).

The 2022 NACTOY semifinalists for the Truck of the Year Award include the following that I ranked based on my liking:

3. Toyota Tundra
4. GMC HUMMER EV
5. Hyundai Santa Cruz
6. Nissan Frontier

The winner is expected Jan 2022.. Ford better starts preparing some stickers for my XLT
