I’ve upgraded my suspension with the Rough Country 2” strut, spring and shock replacement. With the 245/65R17 BFG T/A KO2’s I have lifted the truck 3”. Everything fits great and looks good. I’ll have to post an update on handling; so far there is some difference with the longer travel, I find it more truck-like.

I’ll get a pic. And let me drive it for a week or so to figure out mileage.

Depends on what you want to use the truck for as to how the tires make you 'feel'.

It's all preference, I get that some people really like the K02s but there are some pretty good AT tires out there that weigh significantly less, I'm talking 10+ pounds less. Unfortunately when it comes to rotational weight, every pound you add of rotational weight is the equivalent to anywhere in the ballpark from 7-10 pounds of static weight so considering the fact that the stock Pirellis weigh 25lbs driving around with those K02s (44lbs) is the equivalent of driving around with 646lbs in the bed of your truck which is a lot of weight. (19lbs more X 8.5lbs avg of equivalent static weight X 4 tires = 646lbs)

I'm not criticizing or judging or knocking your choice, just pointing the math out in the event that anyone else is interested in going with a tire like this.

I know you're not being judgmental. I understand the physics. The reasons for selecting the BFG is low noise for the class, very good performance and durability, and they meet my needs for the way I use my truck. I checked the weight on these tires, rounding up - 45lbs. The tires I removed are 30. total increase of 60 lbs, and they are 20mm wider, obviously more force needed to turn them - they do have more rotational mass, but we can ignore that. For the roads I drive on in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and in the Eastern California deserts, the BFG's will provide a lot more confidence in long dirt/forest road travel. Yes, most of my miles are on tarmac, yet I anticipate +7% of my miles will be off-road and benefit greatly from the larger tire. I just spent a week in Death Valley on the Pirelli's. I'll be in the Sierra's this weekend and back in the desert in 3 weeks. I'll share my impressions. overall, with the 5 loads hauled for weekend chores I feel this is a good upgrade, and my gas milage, all around town, looks very close to what I was getting last week. I do anticipate giving up some mpg, some from the tires, possibly more from the lift and the higher profile in the wind.
