Why did you buy it out of state? My brother ordered one this year (on the last day or second to last day so I fear his order will not be filled). Davidson Ford on route 31 in Baldwinsville (my area), as well as the Ford dealer in Medina did not charge over MSRP.
Ford told Davidson Ford they could not order any more because they had ordered something like 50 trucks, but would only get 18 trucks. So we ordered from Medina, hoping a small town won't have as many orders... And because they are closest to Batavia, where my brother lives.
Might be because the dealer he bought it from was selling them for $3k below MSRP

This all sucks. You buy a new truck and you're worried that it wont make it home. Great.

Mechanical breakdowns can happen to any new vehicle, regardless of manufacturer...
Have worked in trucking for almost 20 years and can attest to that. Even $150k+ brand new vehicles that are supposed to be "heavy duty" breakdown with less than 1,000 miles on them. A fleet of 1,000 trucks any given day there's at least 30 in dealers that are less than a year old.
As frustrating as it is, if it's mechanical it's going to break. Especially now with almost everything electronically controlled and sensors for sensors.
Still a pretty shitty situation especially for as long as we've all needed to wait to get our Mavs.

That WAS true to begin with but I'm pretty positive that I read that Ford stopped putting the active shutter on models built after a certain date...
The active shutters are still on them, at least my EB built late sept early oct 22, there’s 4 on mine, with 1 next to the bottom removed at factory, not sure on hybrids

Were they able to drive it onto the flatbed. If not how did they get it into neutral, without starting it. Hope it'll be something small, easy to fix.

By the time the tow truck got there, I'm sure the Mav had cooled off enough to drive onto the flatbed. If not, or if it didn't start, it still had power so the tow truck driver could put it in neutral. Even if it was dead, there's a lever he can pull to put it in neutral

Long time lurker, new poster as now after 10 month wait, I picked up the new 2022 2.0 AWD Lariat at Granger Ford in Iowa and driving it back to Upstate NY, 1000 miles into the trip, 3 1/2 hours from home, at a rest stop, it throws an “Engine Coolant Over Temperature“ warning ”Check Engine” and now I’m in limp mode.

Ford Roadside calls a truck and I wait, finally make contact and they tell me that can’ t tow from I-90, call AAA and they pluck me out of there and to Bidleman Ford in Auburn, NY. I’m in a hotel waiting for my wife for a rescue. Bidleman can’t look at it until Monday.

I talk with Ford Customer Care this morning and what they offer me is reimbursement for towing.

My question - does anyone have experience in a similar situation with Ford? I’ve asked to speak with a supervisor with my case number on Monday. Any ideas how to better escalate this or to have Ford do the right thing? Thanks!

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Maverick concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

Unfortunate to see this happened to you! Maybe a stuck thermostat could be a possibility too? Hopefully it all gets sorted.

Norpinist,

This thread really shook me. I'm flying to Granger tomorrow morning to drive my new Maverick home to the eastern edge of NY (1200 miles). I was hoping it was going to be a fun road trip!

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble and I hope everything gets taken care of.

I just started my 1200-mile trek home. 32.4 MPG and everything running smoothly so far. Staying overnight at first stop: St. Louis. I hope Ford gets things squared away ASAP for Norpinist!
