Hi all!

I have owned my 22 Hybrid since July of 22. I was lucky and found one on the lot when my 2013 Mazda 5 decided to stop working.

I have been impressed with the gas mileage overall, but have to say the cross country trip I took in September showed me the possibilities of how well the Maverick can perform with the right driving conditions.

Driving from the Badlands to Yellowstone resulted in a range of 698.5 miles on a full tank. I had my girlfriend snap the picture while I was driving at 59 mph. At the time my truck, Yosemite Sam, only had 5615 miles on it. Later in the trip, driving around the Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming. I actually maxed the range out at 725 miles, but can't find the photo showing the mileage, speed, and range.

I absolutely love my Maverick and find it meets all my expectations. I am currently moving from Baltimore to WV and am getting an average of 558 miles for range, which allows me to go on a round trip, fully loaded, on a single tank of gas.

I think I get those ranges because I use my cruise control (60-70 mph) and keep the truck maintenance up to speed. I hope it continues to give me this kind of performance in the years to come.

What kind of range are you getting? What is the most mileage on a single tank of gas you have seen?

I'm also able to get 50mpg and 600+ miles on rural slow roads, but interstate travel drops to 30s mpg and 500 mi.
I agree, Mav has great mileage and range, but a little confused.
694 miles / 37.8 mpg = 18.3 gal. Mav has 13.8 gal tank.

I have no idea how can you get +/- 700 mile per tank, with less than 14 gallons in your tank and 38 mpg. Sounds interesting, and may be there is an explanation.

I have a 2022 FE Hybrid. Getting max 43 mpg, and total milage per tank of max 540 miles !! I am constantly hyper mile ling, with auto speed control, never more than 10% over speed limit, driving really conservative, and that its. 80% highway driving (50 to 70 milesper hour). (Central Florida 64 to 80 degrees temp). Total mileage so far: 4500 miles.

I would love to get into de 600 miles Club. !!

694/13.8=50.2. One would have to average 50.2 on a cross country trip and that would be considered highway miles. If OP is averaging over 50 mpg on highway miles, then he has a record-setting Maverick. What I can do in my Maverick or in my Kia Niro Hybrid is to reset odometer, drive 20 or so miles mostly on EV, get an outrageous mpg - say 54-48mpg or so, then fill up and computer uses high mpg to estimate miles left on tank. That is NOT miles driven, and when you start driving on highway, it goes down quickly. 500 or so is about it on highway, but you can squeeze 600+ with a lot of city driving included.

I once broke 700 miles on mostly city/suburban roads. I agree that going over 60MPH will start to bring your numbers down quickly.
I used no cruise control on this tank.

Did you get another pic of the mileage when the tank was at/near empty as opposed to full?

I find this hard to believe with mostly highway miles. Hybrid mileage drops on the highway. I’ve gotten 60+ mpg around town. But have never gotten over 35-36 at highway speeds of 65-70. Believe me I’ve tried, but it’s not possible unless it’s all down hill.

I don't have the Hybrid but the best I could accomplish on a full tank was 478 miles. It was so close to 500 miles despite being the more guzzling Ecoboost with AWD. The best average fuel economy I've accomplished was 36 mpg. Not bad. My Honda Civic couldn't achieve those numbers. BTW, CJ is my nickname as well. (y)

We have gone 580 miles on a tank and this last fill up I was able to put 14 gallons into it so we averaged 42.4 or so which we consider insane for a truck that makes the old Ranger look tiny.

Hard to believe or not, it happened and that is why I included the photo. The trip through the National Parks has a variety of terrains, steep hills going up and steep hills going down from the Tetons. You use more gas going up a steep incline and use less or none going down. I use a lot of back roads on my trips because I want to explore the parks fully. Some roads have a max of 55-60 mph, others have lower speed limits.

Regardless, this is the mileage I got on this particular trip. It is possible, because I did it.

Yes, all his photo is showing is that the computer is predicting he can go 694 miles, not that he actually did it.

I thought the same, and I'm also confused by the math - 694 miles til empty at 37.8 mpg shown as average is over 18 gallons of fuel. Not sure I understand how that's all computing properly. I did see a YT review of someone who filled up a hybrid and his receipt showed over 14 gallons pumped for a hybrid; so is it a 13.8 gal tank or slightly bigger? (Still not 18...)

Exactly. After refueling, it thinks it can go another 694 miles. Doesn't show that it actually did go 698.5 mi on one tank.

(And technically a Trip indicating 698.5 mi does not mean that it was since refueling; we'd still have to take their word for it.)
