Like the late Meatloaf said…
I installed the Kia home link auto dimming mirror with compass, stubby antenna with a signal booster, and 12 volt plug with USB ports in the bed.
the mirror and bed power were so easy, about 1/2 hour each, and they work great! The antenna, not so much. I was one of the lucky ones to pick one up from Quirk parts in Ma. The bed power and antenna parts were from Amazon.
The stock antenna gave me decent reception in my area but I wanted the look of the shorter cravenspeed stubby. I installed it and the reception was terrible. So I thought I’d try the booster. Took about an hour, due to not knowing how to access the radio, but eventually did (thank you MTV posts). The reception went from terrible to nothing but static, albeit louder, boosted static!
I removed it and went back to the stock antenna, oh well, I’m thrilled with the other installs.
