Reading this thread gave me flashbacks to dsmtuners.com. I still have a talon tsi and 2 eclipse gsx with 6 bolt 4g63 powertrains. Is the weight bias of the awd maverick good enough to justify searching for 100 plus hp gains?

I mean this truck making 350whp would be fun as heck lol. It already is fun to drive with the minimum gains it's made thus far

Lol... 87 is all the maverick needs.

You shouldn't need an owners manual to tell you that more octane = better performance. Common sense should tell you that.

There's a reason 87 takes up 1/3rd of the page.

Ford Maverick 2.0 tune performance gains w/ 93 octane -- 0-60 and 1/4 mile times Screenshot_20211212-180400_Drive

I'm one of those that does not get this....Current car is 337 hp, all OEM.

On 87 oct gas:
0-60 in 3.82 sec

I think many if not most bought Mavericks buyers are out for mpg & a little off-roading, not performance. Maybe I bought the wrong vehicle...
But I can see it, if it is all for fun to make an economy car into a sleeper, that I could deal with.

Lol your 337hp whatever isn't running a 9.7 1/4 mile and it absolutely isn't doing a 9.7 at 122mph.

Are you talking about your Porsche Cayman S? There's no way a stock Cayman could pull those times on 87.

I bought my Cadillac ATS-V from Virginia and it came with a full tank of 93. After filling up with California 91 I felt a noticeable loss in power. I couldn't imagine putting 87 in a high performance engine. The ecu would have to pull a ton of timing to keep it from melting your pistons.

The gas station I use here has 85 or 100 Octane. I have never ran the higher in my crappy Dodge Van, but figured I needed to in the Mav. I was concerned it was too high but the other is too low.

IIRC you can't really damage anything with "too high" of an octane rating. Your vehicle will run 100 octane it's just that in most cases it can't benefit from it. In WW2 aviation gas was 150 octane and the engines were highly tuned to take advantage of it.
