Don't worry, I got Mr_boom's point.Booms point is if you are into modifying you are likely not too concerned with a factory warranty.
So, there are two options - ask random unknown people on forums and gather their opinions -or- look up Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, the fed law governing warranties, and reach your own conclusions.
If you are not really familiar at a basic / foundational level with how these drivetrains work and are therefore uncomfortable with modifying, don't do it. No sense in taking away from enjoying your new ride by doing something that will cause you to worry.
And I'm pretty sure he understood my joking response to his "who cares about a warranty lol" comment. (Half-joking, really. Most of us do care about the warranty. Even -- and this may surprise you -- those of us who know "how these drivetrains work.")
So, to paraphrase someone you know and love:
If you are not really familiar at a basic / foundational level with how humor works and are therefore uncomfortable responding in kind, don't do it. No sense in taking away from enjoying your feeling of superiority by doing something that will cause you to worry.
