Great review and photos!

The cubby was likely cost-savings rather than solely supply-chain issue. Other manufacturers are touting giant screens in their new releases (Tundra/Santa Cruz).
Too bad they not only shrunk the screen, they chose not to retool the dash area to a proper design.
Screams makeshift.
I just assumed they were future proofing the dashboard design to eventually offer a larger screen. Odd that they didn't at least include a larger screen on the Lariat, but then heated seats aren't even standard on the Lariat.

Does the 225 spare tire fit ok underneath your truck?
I actually put a 235/65r17 Falken Wildpeak as my spare to match the rest and it fit fine, though any ball mount I use has only about 1/2 inch of play out the back of the receiver.

Excellent write-up with some actual gripes and not just the same fluff you get from press reviews, slightly repackaged for each publication. Thank you for giving me actual things to watch out for when I take delivery!

Great review. It's like reading one in the professional motor mag's, with the added value of coming from a real owner who spent $ on the machine!

This is almost exactly my build except no FX4, added the 235-17's, and no tonneau cover (waiting to see what hits the aftermarket in 3-4 months).

How did you like the seats on the long trip? Comments on the vyleathernyl interior? THANKS!!!!

I had thought about waiting for the cover until later but decided with winter approaching (we got a little snow the last 2 nights) I needed it sooner than later.

The seats were very comfortable. I do wish they were ventilated and had cooling for warner days, but other than that, I think they will be just fine. They get dark when they get wet, but seemed to return to the normal color when they dried back out.

I hope you enjoy your Maverick as much as I do.

Is there any way to adjust the hood latch? I am wondering if that will correct the hood rattle.

That was a super detailed review. I have a hybrid on order but reading this let me know some of the things to watch for, to complain about, and to give kudos to.

Great review. After seeing other “full size” spares great to hear a true full size will fit.

You just HAD to bring up the water bottle! Hahahaha.

Would you recommend the Hard Roll Up or the Hard Trifold? And Which one do you think would be more durable?

Question for anyone who actually drove a Maverick…. Have any of you experienced hood flapping similar to what the op described?
I read an earlier post where the person was test driving one and had the same observation.

Sorry don’t recall the thread.

Are there any speed/distance limitations about driving on that "undersized" full sized spare?
