I drew all the decals and went to a shop, they custom made it!

I went exploring down some dirt roads on county land. The 2.5L hybrid is amazing - I could creep along in drive and barely even have to hit the pedal, just riding through ruts (albeit minor) and fairly rough dirt road. And once by happenstance, some fairly rough ground with loose 3-4 inch rocks. Scree's the word, I think? Wouldn't do that again, not without rock rails/panels but it was amazing at the former. This is going to be a fantastic hunting truck provided you don't need to take trails that would require a 4x4, or anything beyond that.

What does disconcert me is parking on an incline. In reverse or forward as you leave gear, there's this moment where the truck has to put down enough power to break its lack of momentum, and the darn thing just shoots forward. Even in eco mode, with half an inch on the pedal. So for now I'm street parking, as I'd rather not have to repair paint or replace trim, or a garage door. Though there might be something I haven't learned given I'm a fairly new driver and this is my first car.

I added the OEM tailgate assist that I purchased a few weeks ago. It works really well but was kind of a hassle to install because I didn't have a t50 or t30 driver and I didn't feel like buying them just for this.

My wife installed the front license plate bracket while I was doing the tailgate assist install. I also have the MRT hood struts to install but I'll save that for tomorrow or Saturday.

Drove my XLT Lux Pkg AWD FX4 about 300 miles around Arizona, including town, city, freeway, two-lane blacktop, and graded gravel. Wonderful trip and performance. The trip computer shows 31.5 mpg and dividing the miles driven by the time, about 53 mph average. Very comfortable, Extremely Quiet (note capital letters), great sound system. I am loving the Apple Play. Now if it just had push-to-start, true keyless entry, and automatic wipers like the $18,000 (when new) 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport I sold to buy this truck, it’d be just about perfect.

Drove my Maverick to the Kia dealership and ordered my wife a 2023 Telluride.

Gave the Maverick it's first oil change, installed the Ford mud guards, the door sill plates and the raised flat black tail gate letters. My wife and I just love this truck. I installed the tonneau cover the day after we got it, then we took it on a 2,200 mile road trip the next day (ordered 07/05/21, took delivery on 01/07/22.) We haven't had any problems or issues at all. Driving to work and back 80 mile round trip I'm averaging 29.5 mpg. I carpool with another guy, and he really enjoys the ride, too.

1560 mile round trip to and through Big Bend National Park. 28.4 mpg over 30:11 hours. Highway driving, in the park at 45 mph. Stop and go to stop and take pictures. Unimproved Grapevine Hills Road to I-10 and 80 mph. Fantastic truck. Total of 2950 miles on the Mav. Used ACC and Lane Centering. Got used to them and they reduce fatigue. Last day started at 7:30 am and ended at 10:30 pm. The seat was not meant for that length of time. Only negative. AWD was useful but the rad was a little lame. Too new to go hell bent for leather.

Added a few life improvement mods over the weekend. Started with the OEM tailgate assist then moved onto the MRT hood struts yesterday and today I finished installing the OEM floor mats.

Tailgate assist in place and working good. Was kinda a pain to install but not to bad. My wife loves it.

Next up is the hood struts from MRT. These took around 45 minutes to install and now I don't have a hood prop in the way when I'm working in the engine bay.

Last thing is the OEM floor mats. We have a gravel parking lot at work and I knew after one day the carpet ones were going to get nasty real quick so I ordered these.

No pictures at the moment, but I installed my dashcam (Rear and forward), my bedrug (Too cold for the adhesive but I got it flat inside and it'll work as is for now) and my soft tri-fold cover installed today. Hoping I can get some paperwork done and then go cut my 6x2s down to size this afternoon. I cut my boards down to length and installed.
