I think Ford is full of dog poo with orders/retail. Dealer I ordered had Lariat hybrid with all restricted items on the floor, sold of course and I can see the other one at the local dealer.

It is what it is. They can make some, not all so yes you will see a few here and there.

The hitch is built into the bumper impact bar. It's not like old trucks where you could bolt on onto the frame at any time. It's a lot more complicated for install, and will likely cost 5-7 times the price to do later using the correct parts. Some have welded a receiver to the impact bar. I certainly wouldn't trust that as much. It's a cheapie solution.
$700 to do it later? The after market hitches bolt on and replace the whole "impact bar'. $300 from Curt plus another $100 for the wiring harness. About the same price from Ford Parts. The factory hitch is just a receiver welded to the "impact bar". There is no reason that a receiver welded to the bar by some one who knows what they are doing wouldn't be as strong if not stronger.

Cheaper is not always "cheapie"

That's what I'll do, just weld on a receiver. NBD

U-haul; hitch to me seems to be the best option. 250 bucks, install yourself. Yes the wiring makes it more complicated. I dropped my hitch BUT I don't need the 4 pin plug as I just want the hitch for a ladder extension .

YES, $300 for the hitch, $100 for the wiring, $40 for tax, Close to $500 to do it yourself, or $700 if you have someone install.

I really wish that one of the features ford had separated out of the lux package was the hitch. I have no reason to tow anything, especially not with a FWD hybrid. If it gave me a slightly better chance of getting scheduled I'd happily give up a hitch, or like, trade the hitch for the bed rails or something. The interior creature comforts of the lux package are what I'm really in it for...

Assuming (so, grab your salt shaker):
  • Ford is keeping their 35-65 ratio
  • Ford is at least matching 2022 productions numbers
  • Ford is indeed done scheduling February
Outstanding EB orders should have a roughly 50-50 chance of being scheduled for some week in March, allocations notwithstanding.

So, I suspect Ford might start pushing the hybrid-to-EB conversion harder soon.
My dealer seemed confident my hybrid would be built, but from what I’ve read, it seemed very doubtful. So I went ECO. Now I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll get the EB.

I just emailed my sales guy and switched one of my Hybrid orders to AWD ECO BOOST!. Didn't want to, but thought it was wise if I wanted to drive a Mav this year. Still have a Hybrid order standing (waiting) but doubt it will be scheduled this year (9/19 order date priority 19). I also took advantage of the SIB/cargo management discount offer.
I switched my hybrid to ecoboost on 1/4/23 and received a scheduled notification on 1/12/23 for a 2/6/2023 build date. Basic order….eco, fwd, area 51, full size spare, sliding rear window.

Congrats!, I really want the gas mileage of the Hybrid, but finally caved in to get the Eco Boost. now I wish I converted back in December. It will be a huge leap up from that Hyundai Accent .
Really happy for you and I hope you get to enjoy it soon. best of luck!

Ford makes good trucks but sucks at just about everything else.

Waiting 420 days for my truck...which is finally in build but I still have not got my private offer. Yes I qualify and have the COVP, watched Tims video on private offers with my sales person, searched for it under every name, misspelling, phone number and email. Salesperson called Ford marketing to special dealer line and they keep referring him to the AWOL sales and inventory specialist. Ford is dissing the dealers but a fish rots from the head and this entire experience stinks. Makes sense why dealers are not following Ford pricing guidelines as they have to spend hours fixing fords messed up convoluted process

FWIW, I was totally onboard with switching to ECO last week, emailed my salesperson, but also asked his input, given his info on allocations, etc. He advised I sit tight for at least a couple more months. From what I've been reading, as a Day One order I supposedly (maybe) have a better shot at getting my hybrid, so I'm gonna sit tight for a bit longer. My thinking is if he switched me to EB the truck would be here sooner, his commission check gets cut sooner, so I'll trust that he's not just BS'ing me. He also knows that I REALLY want the hybrid, and an EB would totally be me settling.

Is there anything preventing them from building without the splash guards and tow hitches and just shipping later to dealers to install? Or is it a labor cost savings thing? Those are the only things on my build that is constrained since I am a EB Lariat config.
I removed the trifold bed cover, the splash guards, and the Hood/Fender Protective film. All these items are available on eBay for way less than the Factory Prices. The Mud Guards in fact are a Genuine Ford Part for $102.89.

Friends xlt got built priority 19 with hitch and moon roof. My xl got pushed to 1/23 with hitch priority 10? Same dealer ordered 5 minutes apart. Just seems random
Not necessarily random. Your friend had an XLT and you had an XL. A larger percentage of the 35% hybrids are allocated for production as XLT's than is allocated for XL's. Perhaps you are waiting in line with all the XL's fewer line slots for some poop scoopers 36+/- XL's order with EPA priority considerations to be built?
I am not happy to hear that pushing into 1/23 is happening but since I have an XLT I do not expect that you will bump me but will probably bump an XL.🤔🤞

Makes me feel better... for reasons. :giggle:

But the math says mine should be scheduled by late spring. I doubt Long-Lewis is out of allocations for the year already.
