Ford is making a decent effort on the hybrid orders. Current estimate is now that they will only miss by 33%, meaning nearly 2/3rds of all hybrid orders could be scheduled by the end of the model year if Ford does no further wringing of the supply line (also not counting the no-COVP cancellation wave that is due to happen next week).

Looks like they even topped the largest number of Bronco Sports since the Maverick came online as well in May. Factory must be screaming. Wonder if that is playing a role in the shipping delays. Simply taking a while to get them on a train.

Effort is not a measure of product quality. Effort, or level thereof, is not always positively correlated with positive results. Production was up for the month, but any hybrid built before May 19th is already on a recall. I guess we give Ford three stars for effort????

The alternative is Ford doesn't build any and just wash their hands of the over orders. And Maverick was not alone in being impacted by the recall.

Given Ford's numbers went up and there was never a point when the factory shut down, seems to me the issue found was recent and the in-factory fix was simple. A lot of the time, what takes a while is sourcing parts for the recall as well as writing the instructions for dealerships so that they don't do more harm implementing the fix. I honestly think that is why my Explorer recall is taking so long. A software fix could be sent out in ten minutes. Sourcing enough replacement cameras to send to dealerships (while not taking away from scheduled builds) takes time.

Wash their hands of the over orders???? To some, it appears that there are "over orders" because Ford washed their hands of any semblance of control over the order process itself. πŸ€” If I make a "what is it" and know I can only make 35k a year, why would I take orders for 100k and then not tell any of the 100k of those who ordered who might get their "what is it"??

Maybe I am missing something and I know everyone is on the recall kick, but if Ford produced just over 11,000, yet sold just under 7,000, where are the other 4,000? They are not sitting on dealer lots as is quite obvious. Just curious and maybe someone explained it and I missed it.

Sales are a lagging indicator. Ford built 11,000, but we don't know where those 11,000 are in the shipping process.

Because it takes a month or so to transport, there is a lag between production and sales. May sales are mostly a result of April or earlier production. The 11,000, except for those hybrids which may not get sold because of the recall, will be reflected in future sales figures, probably for the month of June.

Because the one built on 5/18 was before the fix. The truck built on 5/19 was built with the fix.

Great response :) !! So, when do think Ford will let us know the fix? Perhaps, in the 4th Quarter?? They must know the fix if those built on the 19th are fixed...........πŸ€”(y)

Actually, the think the fix is in and Ford just won't tell us!! πŸ€”;):)
