    A big hunk of it is the soft engine mounts. Open the hood up and give it a shove and you can see the whole thing rock. There's an aftermarket engine mount you can get that reduces that rocking, if it's that much of a concern.

    So I got a second person to wiggle the hood open while I was pulling the latch and it opened up. After removing the struts, it opens and closes without issues. I think the struts on some trucks put a little too much pressure on the hood since I didn't change my hood alignment.
