The wipers rotate freely once the truck is turned off. However, be sure to put them back down before you start the truck again!
I thought I would turn the truck on to start defrosting while I wiped snow off it with the wipers up, but when you power it on the wipers rotate to the home position...
I bought my Maverick from Austin at Fox Ford in Grand Rapids, MI. He kept me as informed as he could while waiting for my order (though I usually hear what he had to tell me here first).
Once it was here, he made sure everything went smoothly. He made sure my X-Plan, price protection, and rate...
I like the idea! I feel the same way about stickers on my vehicles.
I just picked my Maverick up on November 2 after 495 days, so I modeled and printed a key chain that is about the same size as the fob. If there's interest, I can share my file so people can print their own.
Once my Maverick gets delivered (currently in production, hopefully delivered in the next month or two), I will fall into the category of first-time truck owner.
My first purchase will be a tonneau cover. Next will be some all weather floor mats and some boards for a DIY bed divider system. I...
When I called Ford a couple weeks ago, I was given a VIN and build week of 8/29. I haven't gotten an email saying I've been moved back, but I also haven't gotten an email with a confirmed build date. I have gotten all the previous update emails from Ford.
I have a Prusa MK3S printer, and Creo is the CAD software I have access to through work. It is definitely not cheap.
TinkerCAD is a free option that has already been mentioned. I believe there is also a free version of Fusion360 available to hobbyists.
I would check your local library to see...
Ever since I ordered my Maverick and started consuming lots of truck related media, I have been getting targeted ads for the Loadd Sheett. It seems like a pretty cool idea that works better than your standard ratchet straps.
I can't find many reviews online. Has anyone had any experience with...
Once Ford releases the CAD that DIYers can use to design with, I'm sure you'll be able to find models on Thingiverse or PrusaPrinters. I will probably post some eventually.
Once you find a model you like, you could send it to Shapeways or Protolabs or Xometry to get printed if you don't have...
The Jackery 500 claims to run a CPAP for 9 hours on with a 518 Wh battery. If the EVB in the Maverick is 1.1 kWh (1100 Wh), you should be able to run a CPAP overnight without needing the ICE to fire up. This is assuming there isn't an auto shutoff timer on the outlets in the Maverick.
Harbor Freight also has this over-cab model: https://www.harborfreight.com/800-lb-capacity-full-size-truck-rack-98511.html
I would want to look at it in store and take some measurements to make sure it will fit on the Maverick's short bed, but assuming it fits, this could be a good option.
Agreed. I much prefer the one piece floor liner. When I saw pictures of the OEM floor mats, I cancelled that option on my order. I'll wait for an after market one piece option.
I have been very happy with my Michelin Defenders for all season/all weather driving on my Mazda 3. They handle rain and snow very well, and ice better than most.
The Maverick will be my first truck, so I'm not sure if the handling is different between trucks and cars.
It's really hard to tell what the interior color is in all the different photos with different exposures/filters, but I'm hoping the Prusament Anthracite Gray PETG I have will look nice.
I wouldn't worry about the double sided tape. This isn't the same stuff you would get from an office supply store.
3M VHB tape is used in all kinds of industrial applications, including adhering the make and model badges to your car.
I'm in the same boat. I have been very happy with my 2013 Elantra GT, and the Santa Cruz piqued my interest. However, the 40mpg hybrid and low cost of the Maverick are what caused me to choose it over the Santa Cruz.
