AWD/4x4 kills fwd vehicles for motive traction in any road condition, every single time, no comparison. My 2017 AWD 2.0 eb escape with stock Continental all seasons tires, would easily pull away , on any snow or icy roads from my 2016 Mazda 6 with new Michelin Xice 3 snow tires. I know, I drive...
I know what you mean, mine does it too. So did my 2017 2.0 escape that I traded in. I hate when an engine lugs, my escape had paddle shifters, so I could downshift it. I believe it is set up this way for best fuel economy, highest possible gear, but it is annoying. To temporarily stop it from...
Iām sure the EB Fx4 without the 4K trailer pack could easily handle a middle ground sized 2500-3000 lb trailer. All trailers over 3000 lbs in my area need separate trailer brakes, which requires a 7 pin harness to utilize, which only comes with the 4K package. So my thought is, Ford chose to...
Ford redesigned the engine in 2019 for the 2020 model year 2.0 ecoboost. This was to eliminate (hopefully) the cause of the coolant intrusion defect that has destroyed so many of these engines. Sorry I donāt know much about the pre 2017 2.0 eb engines, but from what I read and heard from...
I was very lucky, I still had a few weeks left on my factory 5 year, 60k miles warranty,, so Ford replaced the long block and ate the cost. The 2017 to 2019 2.0 EB have a design flaw, Ford knows this, Ford should automatically extend the warranty and pay for replacing these defective engines.
What I did with my Maverick today , was to pick it up from the dealer! Order June 18, itās been a long wait but Iām glad itās in my drivewayš. E.B, XLT, Fx4, spray in liner, full sized spare, rear slider, both mats, and in hot pepper red. Now the fun can beginā¦
Lots of opinions, with lots of ways people break in their engines. So here mine. First things I avoid, I never let the engine lug, I never let the engine idle for more than what it takes to drive my car safely, no drive thoughs, no remotes starts on a cold day while I wait in my house, no...
Yes, you would think that , but Iāve read on many Ford forums, horror stories of owners of defective 2.0 engined Fords being denied any compensation. Many just past their warranty by a less than 2000 miles.
Your build is coming up, dates may slightly change though. For a time frame comparison, my Maverick had a blend date of Nov 8, went into production Nov 17, built Nov 20, shipped Nov 23. So your build should hopefully follow a similar time frame. So your wait is almost over!
I just checked and mine is in production as of today. And did you also get an ETA delivery date? Mine showed up today as well, itās for Christmas Day, I wonder how accurate this will be.
I totally agree with you, that push button start Is way over rated. A real key, in a key slot, turn to startā¦is not an inconvenience at all. I own both starting types in my cars, and just donāt see what the advantages of push to start are, but thatās me.
Update~ well I got the news, coolant intrusion into the cylinder, none repairable, new long block ordered, takes 2-4 weeks to get it in. I have less than 2 months left on my factory warranty , that was too close, sucks that this happened but I am so lucky that I wonāt be paying the approx $8000...
I am keeping a close eye on that and as far as I can see, no signs of water in the oil. Oil level on dip stick stays the same. No oil in the coolant either, also no white sludge on inside of oil cap as well, all looks good. Iāve changed out the spark plugs with new motorcraft ones and no change...
Well up until 6 weeks ago my 2017 Escape AWD with the 2.0 has been trouble free. 77,000 km/48,000 miles bought new. Started experiencing an occasional cold start misfire. Lasts 5-8 seconds.
Then, it occurred a few days in a row,, triggered the CEL to illuminate 10 days ago..Took it to the...
My dealer confirmed the news Iāve been waiting for, VIN assigned and build date confirmed for Nov 1. Itās set up here a bit different here in Canada than in the U.S., thereās no direct tracking/emails from Ford, itās all sent to you by your dealer. Order placed June 18 for XLT Fx4 in Hot pepper...
