Took me three swings to get it right. 2022 XLT Hybrid Hot Pepper Red had the intermittent Hybrid shudder. After 20K miles swapped out for a Terrain 2024 XLT Hybrid. Immediately noticed it was not as quiet, had driver's door wind noise and noticeable hybrid fan noise, and driver's door locked...
I just made a video of my 2024 Maverick door locking issue. After turning car off but leaving keys in ignition to grab something, exit vehicle, and 45 seconds after door closes a couple under dash dash servos can be heard engaging and then a click from drivers door. Just sent it to Ford. They...
The people “locking themselves out by accident” is actually not true. It is the car. My 24 Mav locks the drivers door (only) if you get out to grab something and leave the key in the ignition. I can reproduce it every time. After all the people saying it was incidental contact with the door...
When you drive the 25—if you own a 22-24 Mav— you will immediately notice and miss the buttons. And the terrible instrument cluster design. They have an amazing LED pallet to work with. The design, for any GUI designer, is juvenile from an aesthetic point of view and they stripped out...
Completely agree with all those differences noted. I’ve owned 22-23-24 Mavs—all xlt hybrids. Loved all of them. Average 45 mpg in our 24. Just drove the new 25 AWD Hybrid we ordered and I think we’re going to pass. I think between the $6K price bump, eliminating std securicode entry, eliminating...
As I said in my post, we were not even in the market for a car, let alone a truck. Flash forward, it's a different landscape. Today in CA right now you can buy a Tesla Model 3 off of their website go drive over to the Fremont plant and pick it up for only $22K-$27K (after the $7500 fed rebate...
The $19,950 entry point and "40 mpg" was what attracted the attention initially. Most folks found they had to move up to the XLT to get the equipment they needed (in our case cruise control). Our first XLT was $25K, the 2023 $27K, and the 2024 we just ordered over $30K--all the same equipment...
Ford is using these significant price increases and mandatory option bundles to raise their average selling price on Maverick to restrict demand in to line with their ability to produce. Congratulations to Ford--looks like they've succeeded, largely eliminating the bargain that was the...
Pretty predictable. They're in business to make money. I feel really lucky to have my 2022 Hybrid at the original price--that was an insane, extraordinary value. Going to pickup my 2023 Mav Hybrid #2 for the family in a couple days after a 10 month wait. Still a great deal albeit ~2K more. But...
The "shudder" from electric to ICE transition is definitely not caused by the CV axles themselves. The CV axle is a fixed and balanced steel rod with bearings pressed on both sides that connects the spinning wheel assembly to the transaxle. It doesn't go from being a bad bearing or out of...
The shudder has been present since the beginning of deliveries of the Maverick Hybrid. It happens on the transition going from electric to ICE, gentle acceleration usually at low speeds where a demand for more power (like a slight grade) causes the vehicle wanting to switch to ICE. It is a...
The infamous shudder started on my truck about a year ago at around 1200 miles. Was one of the first group posting about it in March/April 2022. Like you see on these threads, Ford customer relations requested my info which I provided and resulted in a service call from local dealer. I...
I went with the Extang 2.0 purchased from RealTruck. The cover looks really good, is easy and light to take on/off, and it's a bargain for the price. Shout out to RealTruck--I messaged them directly and they hooked me up on a great deal!
The Hot Pepper Red is definitely worth the extra $$. It appears to me to be a higher quality more expensive paint job--They're not charging that significant $495 premium for nothing. There must be significant incremental time and materials. HPR has movement and changes to several different hues...
Until your post I had not seen anything on my car. But I have the one paint flaw on one side at the same bumper seam where it meets the front fender. Looks like a flex crack in the paint when they bolt up the fender to the plastic bumper. Bumper paint is different from the paint used on...
Sorry to hear about the paint chips. Pretty crazy that a fluorescent light shard could do that--that is some thin glass to begin with. Maybe the metal end caps are guilty.
I've got 9000+ miles. no chips anywhere. The Hot Pepper Red does cost extra for multi-stage paint and clear coat, but so...
You obviously haven't driven the Hybrid Maverick. Yes, the engine turns on to recharge the battery after it's reached the level where it needs to be recharged or if you push the pedal down to demand more power than the battery-electric motor can provide. Until that point, it's whisper quit...
The Mav hybrid will actually drive quite a long way on battery only in ECO mode. Haven't measured but it's a few miles sometimes. That's how 45+ mpg is routinely achievable. .
I have seen no diagnosis or recommended repair from Ford on this issue yet, or anyone on the forums reporting they've had this issue fixed.
This issue was raised by myself and others 6+ months ago. I appreciate that Ford (social media response team) did reach out. However, they took my info...
