  3. Ford Maverick After Ceramic Coating

Deal A dealership is the last place I would have a Ceramic Coating installed to be completely honest. Be wary because most of them are using bottom of the line products. I’ve seen cars that are “ceramic coated” from the dealership months afterwards and the coating is already failed. Any...
  4. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

303 is a protective dressing and you don’t want to apply it to a dirty surface. I swear by P&S products, their a press interior cleaner is the only thing you’ll need to clean every surface but the screen in your car. Hope that helps.

You can have rock Chip repair done and it should be all good. Dr. Colorchip uses OEM paint to exactly match your cars color code and their kits are fairly easy to use. Griots (pronounced “Greeos“) makes good products that you can buy at most AutoZone stores. Just follow the directions on the...
  6. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

Oh no not the nylon brush. I agree manufacturer’s should be giving out information on how to properly maintain your vehicles however there is nothing they can say that isn’t already out there on the internet. You will have to have a professional look at it and see if it’s not too deep to...
  7. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

Good thinking. Paint preservation is most important at the end of the day. Let the paint serve it’s purpose. Just keep it protected and you’ll never have a problem 👍
  8. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

Tri-Coat is just another layer of colored paint. Traditional paint system is Primer/Base/Clear. Tri-coat would be Primer/Base/Middle/Clear. I would assume it be thicker because you’re laying down an extra layer of paint. Thats definitely a question for an experienced painter or for someone who...

Depends really. Yes those prices are high but that’s what you get at a lot of these high end shops. I used to work in one and it costs a lot of money to keep the doors open. You’re paying premium pricing. Upside is you typically won’t get a busted job.

There is no standard and any of those manufacturers would probably tell you that. Most cars I see are around 4 Mils. I just saw a brand new Toyota Highlander with 5 Mils all around. And just saw another Ford with about 3.13 as the average and a low of 2.16. We recently walked the Ford Dealership...
  11. A Detailers Maverick Experience: Thin Paint, Ceramic Coating, Etc.

Everything looks great. Remember when doing ceramic coatings, 99% of the work is Prep. If the car isn’t prepped properly the coating will not adhere and you won’t get much out of it. Work at a comfortable speed, don’t cut corners and you’ll be alright. I would stay away from P&S Legend unless...

  13. Waterless wash opinions

Putting anything on paint without proper lubrication will scratch the paint. Theres no exception. Whatever is between your paint and that brush is being scratched into the surface. Whether you see it or not, it’s happening. A trained detailing eye won’t be fooled.
  14. Waterless wash opinions

Yessir. And let’s remember there is a difference between rinseless and waterless. I would not necessarily recommend ONR for waterless. It can be done but there are products like Epic Waterless that are designed for use without water. ONR was designed with use of water in mind. Some people don’t...
  15. Waterless wash opinions

This is my go to for maintaining my personal vehicles. It’s the only “soap” you’ll ever need. And probably the only one anyone who isn’t a trained detailer should use lol. It was designed solely to clean the modern day paint systems. It’s zwitterionic so it is both + & - charged meaning it can...
  16. Waterless wash opinions

🤔🤔🤔 Waterless wash is not going to scratch your paint when done correctly. And as long as you’re using enough product and using safe towels, you will not damage the paint whatsoever. The polymers are going to encapsulate and emulsify the dirt and will provide a microscopic barrier between the...
