You're welcome. It never hurts to try. I wish I could explain all of the negotiation "tricks and tactics" behind my responses but that would take way too much time.
Remember, NEVER GET EMOTIONAL OR UPSET. Always play dumb, keep an even calm, tone, be normal and nice. Be like if you were talking...
Tell them you appreciate that they care to protect their clients vehicles, however, you do not want this protection. You understand vehicles wear out and it's great they they care to try and protect them but you're ok with less protection. It's not their vehicle to protect, it's yours.
Yes that does help. It's true you do not have a signed buyers order like @hhnvubu has but this is still leverage.
First, never ever ever get emotionally involved in a price negotiation. It's just business. If you show your emotions or start going crazy and get all fired up you are just giving...
Ok you've got a lot more to work with than you think. Do you have any paperwork that confirms what the price was when you put in the order? The final price? A line by line breakout that does not have this "Texas Protection Package" added?
What does "reserved in your name" mean? Is this a custom order that was put in for you and your Maverick was scheduled, built, and delivered? Or by "reserved" do you mean you saw it on the dealers lot and told them you wanted it so they "reserved" it for you?
I dont get why you are just rolling over and taking this? Didn't you order your vehicle from them or is this a truck from their lot?
If its your order you should have paperwork and a price without that bs from when the order was put in. If its their stock you need to at least attempt to push...
With how popular this truck is I am sure they'll have one out by early 2022 but if not I'll have my Maverick over there first thing (if I can actually get my hands on one)
I have a softopper on my 2006 Ranger and love it!!! I live right down the road from them and and would gladly let them borrow my Maverick but sadly I wont even be able to order my Maverick until June 2022. I bet they will have one designed by then.
