  1. My A.S.S. is back!!

Apologies for the click baitish title. Two weeks ago had my battery replaced under warranty. Brand new Ford branded AGM. Since then the productivity screen has been saying either A.S.S is not available because it was too cold or it was charging. Mostly too cold. Yesterday it was in the...
  2. Battery replaced by dealer. 2.0 EcoBeast!!

"Confirmed customer complaint of battery warning lights coming on. Tested vehicle battery with rotunda battery tester and got DTC code 9C05LL2 and Aces code FE0AU. Replace battery. Replaced battery and no warning lights came on. Vehicle now better." Funny thing is only got the warning...
  3. Front side marker lights.

Those of you that have replaced your front side marker bulbs with LasFit LED's did you use white or amber? Thanx.
  4. Uh, Oh! Exhaust leaking. 2.0.

On the lift today finally getting the oil changed after 1672 miles. Looking underneath the truck I notice the weld where the exhaust pipe is welded to the muffler is leaking. Started it up to confirm. Yep, bad weld. Gonna do the recall and have the dealer look at the exhaust...
  5. My 93 Octane Experiment! 2.0L EcoBoost Maverick

I hate spending money. I am cheapish as hell. OK, got that out of the way right off. :ROFLMAO: Prolly the one thing and really only thing that has bugged me about my Maverick has been the low RPM vibration we have noticed with the truck. Cruising around 30 or so there are times the RPM...
  6. Anyone use their action camera as a dash cam?

I have an Akaso camera I use as a dash cam and it works great. It's not really intended to use as one but it does have car mode and upside mode but no GPS, so some thought was given. I am really reluctant to try and snake the usb cable up to it disturbing things around the dash and A pillar...
  7. Paint repair color not matching factory paint?

I've been seeing instances with paint repair not matching the factory paint. Not just Ford either. I ordered some touchup paint to have on hand just in case for my Maverick. Tested it in an inconspicuous spot and it is not even close. A friend got their Explorer repaired where a branch took...
  8. Chug, chug, chug!!!

I have a state highway I travel on mostly to get where I need to go. Speed limit 50 but most of the time traffic is moving around 45 or so. I have noticed that at that speed, around 45 or so keeping a steady gas pedal, the transmission likes to shift into a gear where the tach is around 1200...
  9. My Two Takeaways.

Stopped by a local dealer this morning to inquire about my Maverick not charging the battery enough to allow the A.S.S. to work. Now mind you, the least of my concern is the A.S.S. not working. I am more concerned with the battery not ever being fully charged or even close to it and how every...
  10. Ken Block: Wild in the Streets of LA!!!

Ken Block is my all time driving hero. Sadly he is no longer with us. Enjoy the best.
  11. Ceramic Coating for the FX/4 wheels.

I've noticed the clear coat for these wheels is very soft and very prone to superficial scratches. They get scratched even when drying with a microfiber towel. On the plus side the CC is so soft just a once over with McGuiers low cut compound does the trick. So.....thinking of...
  12. Rear Bed Light seems to have a mind of its own?

I've searched but yet to find a definitive answer. I have the LUX package factory rear bed LED light. I push the button, shut it off but later or next day I find it is on again. I know I must be doing something, but not sure what it is yet.
  13. Nail in tire already!!!

Walking by my truck I look down at the right rear tire and there is a nail head!!. Well, there you go. Truck is broke in now!! :ROFLMAO: It's in a good spot, easily repairable.
  14. Cerakote on the plastic!

Anyone else here apply Cerakote to the plastic trim on their Maverick yet? I debated whether or not to do it so soon but decided if applied properly now it would protect the plastic instead of waiting a year or so for it to start to fade. I washed the plastic with Dove dish detergent but did...
  15. The Rear Quarter panel gap.

While cleaning my new Mav today I noticed that gap where the quarter meets the interior door jam. I decided that ain't gonna float for long. All the scenarios flew through my brain. Silicone seal. Nope. Latex caulk. Nope. Seam seal. Well, maybe but nope. Then I decided that maybe the...
  16. The Builder's partially unbiased Maverick observations.

I picked up my Maverick Saturday morning. It was nuts at the dealership. A small country dealership that moves lots of vehicles. People were busy buying. It took over two hours and that is with already having a check in hand from Navy Fed so no discussions with the dealership's financial...
  17. Maverick's Heeeeere!!!!!

Just talked to the dealer, my Maverick arrived and will be picking it up tomorrow!! Tomorrow will be 1 year to the day I ordered it. Oh, happy day!!
  18. Auto Start Stop setting

I do not have my Maverick yet or I would check this myself. On the 6.5" Productivity Screen (Lariat, FX/4 & Tremor) it is my understanding that if you select menu, then select screens there is an option to select / deselect the Auto Start Stop Feature. Is this indeed the case? Thanx.
  19. Tracking your Maverick after it is shipped!

Use Chat. Ask for rail info, car number. They notified me my truck is currently in Nogales, NM railcar # BNSF3018xx. Easy peasy.
  20. Fordpass now says "Activate Vehicle" -- good sign?

I downloaded the Ford pass app on my phone in anticipation of some day getting my truck. Since then, until today it stated it could not find my vehicle or something like that. Today, it says Activate Vehicle. I did not do it. Should I do it?? Maybe blow the horn a few times to get their...
