The driving modes should be described in the owners manual. If it is similar to the 2020 Escape hybrid that I drive for work, Normal mode has less regen than Eco mode. Eco has the most regen and slower takeoff. Sport mode has the least regen and quickest shifts. Normal is somewhere in the middle.

Is the cross traffic alert for when you are backing up? The Escape Hybrid I drive for work beeps when a car drives by behind me when backing up.
