You need not be concerned whatsoever. The computer takes care of it. It is such a tiny battery, at any given moment, it could have any state of charge level (i.e. constantly going up & down). The ICE engine comes on as needed all automatic!

I have a fairly large locking tool box on the bed of my Mav, and a Truxedo rollup tonneau cover. Even if someone slices the vinyl, the two bars across the bed won't allow the tool box to be stolen. So it would take significant effort to remove box.
