  1. Anyone bought a placeholder Maverick while waiting for your ordered Maverick?

Yep did just that. I have a hybrid on order from sept, when it looked like it would be a long delay I grabbed an AWD eco boost in October off a lot at MSRP. Now I think I wanna keep the AWD but I live in the city so Iā€™ll probably still want the hybrid when it comes in. And I bet I get every...
  2. Will any soft tonneau fit with this Ford Accessory Rack?

still waiting on Bak to make and ship the x4s, I hear February. in the meantime I built a trifold out of plywood and piano hinges, cost about $100 and is actually pretty awesome, I painted it black and sealed it off pretty well, I put it together for a cross country road trip / winter. Canā€™t...
  3. How good is lane centering and adaptive cruise control?

Just did a 2000 mile road trip using ACC and the lane centering on the lariat lux and 100% agree with the above post that this makes long drives more relaxing. this is a drive Iā€™ve done yearly and this was by far the least amount of driving fatigue Iā€™ve-experienced. I had ACC on my last vehicle...
  4. Snow days for the Maverick

Fx4 Lariat up in Colorado for the holiday, Iā€™ve got Cooper At3 4s 235/65. Absolute performers so far. Was up in Copper Mountain for the past week, storm came thru over the past few days and dumped 15 or so inches. Drive back was 3-5% grade drop on 70 to Evergreen yesterday, 60 miles, road...
  5. Looking for a tri-fold, hard top bed cover.

Nice find but I doubt that place actually has them in stock, I was told by BAK that I would be getting one of the first X4s units built for the Maverick, which is the what I had ordered from them in October. I haven't seen anyone else with a BAK X4s or MX4 on a maverick yet. Only the OEM REV...
  6. Looking for a tri-fold, hard top bed cover.

Interested if you've installed this yet? What do you think? The MX4 is on hold from BAK due to fitment issues, but I had heard that they made the trifold for Ford, so I'm wondering if the original design is flawed or if Bak is actually delayed due to supply chain issues.
  7. Will any soft tonneau fit with this Ford Accessory Rack?

Honestly I just removed the antenna. Hasn't messed with my reception at all for local stations but I live in a city so that might be why. I plan on keeping it in my glove box unless I need it.
  8. Will any soft tonneau fit with this Ford Accessory Rack?

Cool! This does seem like a solution for that specific Bed Rack but man I'm not sure how much weight the rack could hold just sitting up on those brackets. I think it could severely reduce weight capacity limits, though they are steel. I would want to get some numbers on that, as the page does...
  9. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

When they came out they also had an Elevate rack to fit, but that is no longer being made. Obviously the p3000 / angry elephant rack works, which is the one I got. I would call the guys at tonneaufactoryoutlet.com and ask, as they are the ones using this rail with other racks. They had Vantech...
  10. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

Yes exactly, sandwiches on top of the rail and both get clamped in place together.
  11. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

Itā€™s pretty simple. Here is the Install guide from truxedo. Page 6 starts with combining a cover w the rails. basically they install together, so in my case I will remove the uprights and clamps. So just the elevate rail is sitting in the install position. Then the rails of the tonneau cover...
  12. Tonneau Covers-best for security?

yeah definitely, just saying itā€™s one of the reasons I think the hard roll ups and trifold are worth the money compared to the soft ones.
  13. Tonneau Covers-best for security?

If you want security, then yes. Soft ones can be cut open with a knife. I live in the city, the exact thing happened to my neighbor this summer. on average they probably last much longer too all things considered, and they are easier to open/close. So over time they are definitely worth it I...
  14. AC outlet power in Accessory mode. Car engine has to be on

Yeah this would be nice to know. I have a hybrid on order and am seriously considering trading in for that for the MPG gains but some of these other advantages might put me over the top.
  15. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

I considered the Yakima Rack with the Elevate TS Rail but after looking at the build of the Yakima base I did not think they would work together. I believe the Yakima Tonneau Cover Accessory was built to fit into the RetracXR rail system specifically, which looks to sit taller than the Elevate...
  16. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

This guy knows whatā€™s up. Gotta keep that receipt if you really wanna save big money. šŸ˜‚
  17. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

Yeah I don't see it on the accessory site anymore. Go to Yakima website though and add the Maverick and only one option comes up for the Baseline and it has the proper clips that go with it. I went with the 70" bars, probably could be fine with 60" I just wanted to match the back rails.
  18. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

It is not, I wanted a rack that would work with a hard roll up tonneau cover, so basically discovered this combo system that is the only option for that on the market. Utilizes a bed rail with t-tracks to accept the rack, any low profile tonneau can be installed right on top. Had to cut the...
  19. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

the roof bar is the Yakima baseline system, same one that is on Ford accessory page. I only needed one so I bought it from etrailer. Yakima was sold out on their website. Easy install and super sturdy.
  20. First big haul with new rack system! [1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's]

Iā€™m no mechanic or engineer but I just doubt that would happen in this situation. Did not look or feel overloaded driving. I did make sure the weight was evenly dispersed and drove real slow. Iā€™d bet payload calculations are based on people driving at highway speeds with uneven loads, as...
