my maverick was the first hybrid vehicle I have driven. Its so smooth and the mileage is awesome. I do wish that it drove more like toyota and subaru hybrids though where it stayed running on the battery longer rather than kicking the engine on a few seconds after hitting the gas.

Is it possible that its some sort of static discharge from the regen braking? it sounds very similar (albeit much quieter) than other static discharge noises have heard.

yup! I got my Maverick the week before Christmas after Nissan bought back my frontier. Since then I’ve driven it down to Florida as well as ski areas. I’ve heard the noise in below zero temps and around 80.

My 25 hybrid with tow package is doing this. its very slight and if the radio is loud I don't hear it. It is not temperature dependent (for me at least)
