I think it depends on area you live. I live in S. CA. The dealer charge was over $5500, and the local hybrid repair shop charge was almost $4000. ($3000 new battery & $800 labor).
Yes. Toyota hybrid system is the best. I had a 2016 Sonata Hybrid, and the battery was no problem until I sold it a few years ago, the mileage was 190k. I read an article on google that the Maverick battery was designed to work at least 150k. I am not sure if Ford uses a cheaper battery.
