I’ve been meaning to try disconnecting my factory tweeters and see how that sounds since the door speakers I put in are coaxial. Don’t really need the highs blasting off the windshield into my face, is the thought. :crackup:
One thing I would add is that the front door speaker receives the full frequency range, there is no crossover. That’s why I went a coaxial, but obviously component systems work great also.
Let me know how the Hertz tweeters work out. I was hesitant on those because 1) not sure if they're an easy fit due to the custom Ford bracket and 2) the factory tweeters are 8 ohm, so didn't want to swap them out with a 4 ohm tweeter.
Okay, we all know the stock XLT speakers are absolutely atrocious. I tried the PowerBass drop ins and, in addition to not sounding much better, they didn't actually fit for me (despite trimming off all the foam).
