Anyone using TPMS sensors on your Maverick valve stems so you can monitor the Maverick tires when towing behind a motorhome? If so, any concerns with the stock rubber valve stems on the Maverick?
I ran the charge line to the jump post under the hood, seems to work fine, no battery issues while towing.
I used a Demco baseplate as it was the cleanest to install at the time. The Blue Ox baseplate was having numerous failures, although I think they've since addressed that?
I used diodes...
I agree about a possible design flaw, especially with the bolts that are spec'd, but I wouldn't be too concerned with catastrophic failure as long as you keep an eye on it. Mine gave plenty of warning by getting slightly loose long before it would have likely failed completely. I was likely...
Yes in hindsight this would have saved me some aggravation, but at the time I was doing the first fix in a campground in Cape Breton Nova Scotia and was only trying to do the minimal needed to get us back on the road.
Just wanted to warn anyone with a 2024 Demco baseplate to keep an eye on it, as I had two failures. This past summer I noticed a small amount of play in the baseplate. I took it apart and found one of the bolts supplied by Demco had snapped while towing. It was torqued the amount specified in...
I pulled the front off the truck to find that one of the bolts supplied by Demco had snapped. It was the one holding the extension bracket where the PAD was. The PAD had dropped down a little, possibly from when the bolt snapped and the bracket let loose? I replaced the bolt and tilted the PAD...
FYI for those with a Demco baseplate. I started to find a little play in mine. I took the front of the truck off and found one of the bolts supplied by Demco was snapped off at the head. I torqued it to the specified torque when assembling, so not sure why it snapped. I will be upgrading to...
In addition to the pedestrian sounder fault, I am now noticing play in my Demco baseplate as well. So I guess I have to pull the front end off the truck and see what's going on. Of course this is all happening when I'm 1000 miles from home and in Nova Scotia. Ugh.
Sorry, I meant to ask rmhopper. I saw your fix and am hoping that is my fix as well, but like rmhopper I previously added a Demco baseplate and had to relocate the speaker so hoping that isn't the problem.
