  1. Is this another recall? Engine failure

Gotchya make sense. My car is within the production dates and there are no current recalls with my VIN except for that CSP if the engine block gets broken. I’m sure if I don’t receive a letter for this then yeah I am not going to be over concerned.
  2. Is this another recall? Engine failure

Is this for the incorrect software listed for the fire hood recall? My car is a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid. The software got updated from Ford via mobile technician. My VIN isn’t listed yet. Should I be concerned and get this done if this is listed for my VIN? Hopefully someone can...
  3. Recall 23S27 UNDERHOOD FIRE PCM UPDATE

Did you notice any performance issues after the update? I want to get the update so that the recall can be finished.
  4. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Do we have any update on any letter/documentation from NHSTA relating the recall? Not super concerned about it but just wondering what Ford’s investigation is since we haven’t heard back.
  5. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I agree that’s what was posted on NHTSA’s website. I’m predicting that it will be software with an installed part.
  6. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Ok, so this is the updated info from NHTSA they aren’t technically going to fix the engine unless if the engine breaks down they will replace it. If you have a 2023 model then it's an automatic replacement of the engine.
  7. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

No dobut agree on that. I just rather they admit fault and replace the engines so there would be no further lawsuits. I believe there is a CSP for Admin FSA 23S27, but unsure what that will entail specifically. We will have to wait until possibly April/May when the initial recall came out last year.
  8. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I have a Ford Escape as well and I’m sure that when they say “parts” they are implying that there is a part number, but in actuality we are more of getting a software fix. I mean if it fixes it that’s great, but if it doesn’t then that’s a waste of our time trying to repair something that is...
  9. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

That’s what it seems like, but what’s even more confusing is that they will want to get parts and software for it so I’m unsure how that’s gonna eliminate the issue.
  10. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I heard you can get the new mustang with a stick shift. But yeah all of the newer cars are going obsolete with stick shifts since that isn’t the demand anymore
  11. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I’m sure they do have the capability. Unknown if they want to go that route or find another alternative since it still says that there will be a software update in conjunction with parts. I’m sure we will get something similar installed that is in the 1.5 Ecoboost Engines, but instead with the...
  12. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

It's still very vague with what FoMoCo is saying. I don't understand why they wouldn't update it on the NHTSA system base.
  13. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

That’s what I was thinking thanks for trying to explain it to me I’m not really worried now. Yes, can’t sell it since I do Amazon Flex with my Escape and other related work on my car but very lucky to not have any fire broke out in the car! 92k and it’s still purring well!! I believe the...
  14. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

I’m not sure how a software update will fix a fire problem. Do they mean updating the PCM like the 23e09 recall? It feels super ridiculous that is taking a very long time especially for those that are wanting to trade in/sell their cars.
  15. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Could you please send me the link to the Reddit post? I want to read up on that cause of the underhood fire.
  16. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Do we know how they caught fire? It’s strange to hear that a previous fix was applied but then caught fire. It might have to do with the crankshaft based on users from Reddit.
  17. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Funny thing is that there is a separate recall that is kinda related but has to do with the non-hybrids. Whether hybrid or not you do get all kinds of problems which I agree a hybrid has fuel benefits but can be very pricey in maintenance when it comes to fixing hybrid stuff, other than your...
  18. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

It seems that we are in the right direction, but the person that smelled smoke from the engine needs explain how, what, and why this happened and then also follow up constantly with Ford and their attorneys so the general public knows that it’s an imminent alert.
  19. Campaign/NHTSA # 23S27/23V380

Since there isn’t a remedy to rectify the problem for the underhood fire and Ford trying to give promises and anticipated dates, the one thing I can advise everyone is YOUR LIFE & SAFETY is the NUMBER ONE PARAMOUNT. The recall letter indirectly explains how you should proceed with the situation...
