Thanks, everyone! Between this thread and Kicker tech support (incredibly quick email support btw) a fix was found. I connected the remote wire to fuse 6 using a fuse tap and it works perfectly!

Did you just use a micro3 fuse tap for that?

This noise started for me a few months after receiving my Maverick. This is the best and most likely explanation that I've been able to find on it. It might be normal, but it sure doesn't sound normal! I love my Maverick, but it sure does make a whole lot of random noises.
