  1. Hybrid Dead

So, my wife returns from a drive, turns it off in the driveway, and ALL power (for lights, seat adjustment motors, intelligent access, heating/cooling, etc.) disappears. Nothing. Nada. Nil. The Mav is essentially a paperweight/doorstop sitting in the driveway. Can't get it out of PARK to roll it...
  2. Hybrid Maverick MPG after 11 months = 44 MPG

Yes, only 149:30 hours of driving, traveling a total of 4320.9 miles. It's "only" because, being retired, I don't have a daily commute to work (plus, there are four other cars in the driveway/garage that I frequently choose to drive instead). But the 44mpg is sweet.
  3. Interior lighting and door unlocking problems

Have been on a honeymoon with my Mav since February. Love it. It's done everything asked/expected of it. But alas, now have my first problems. First, the interior overhead lights (front and back) stopped going on when a door is opened. It's not a setting or bulb issue; the front and rear...

  5. MPG over the first 1000 miles

Have now owned the new Ford Maverick hybrid pick-up truck for 7 weeks, having driven 958 miles and visited the gas station 3 times. At its first fill-up, it had gotten close to 42 MPG. At the second, 44 MPG, and the third, close to 47 MPG. I'll gas up again shortly, but, as you can see, it's...
  6. Took maybe 15 minutes. Excellent fit! Lund Aeroskin Smoke Hood Protector

Installed this today (https://accessories.ford.com/products/maverick-2022-lund-aeroskin-smoke-hood-protector). Easy-peasy. All of 15 minutes. Unlike the Lund-made-for-Ford side window deflectors (it did not follow the upper curved window frame real well), this hood protector fit exactly right...
  7. Interesting observations about hybrid MPG/fuel readings

Have had my Lariat hybrid for a week and have driven 160 miles, all in ECO mode. Some things of note (from someone who has owned two other hybrid cars in the past): 1. Am averaging 39.5 mpg in mixed driving. Pretty much where the EPA fuel efficiency ratings say it should be. 2. It's hard to get...
  8. Auto production pain worldwide

Sorry if there's a paywall, but really good article on how auto makers, their workers, and customers are hurting, and on the economic effects of shortages of materials, especially chips. From the article: “We are basically sold out in Western Europe and North America until next year,” Martin...

  13. Overview on the chip shortage

This article is about GM's situation, but the overall information (the chip shortage) relates to most every car maker. "The rise of the Delta variant in Southeast Asia, where many chip plants are located, could take months to resolve — impacting already-dwindling vehicle inventories, driving...
  14. Chips shortage continues to force production cuts

Not specifically about the Maverick, but surely relates to the Mav's production numbers vis-a-vis chip availability. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/01/ford-cuts-f-150-pickup-production-again-due-to-chip-shortage.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axioscloser&stream=top
