Thanks. I like the Ridgeline a lot but WOW is it an expensive vehicle (I've only owned sedans and hatchbacks, but of course knew that pickups were priced a lot higher). The Maverick price was one thing I was very excited about when it first came on the market.
Thanks--makes sense. But I'm not so sure about being able to sell it without taking a loss. That used to be true, obviously, but now that they're become less scarce and demand is going down? Not sure.
We only have one child and no plans whatsoever for a second. We may get a dog before too long, though, so that would be two adults, a 2.5-3 year old, and a dog. Thanks
Thanks for the thoughtful response.
Good to know about the Maverick being tough in the city. We live in a major city and a lot of our driving would be here in town.
Thanks.
The price difference isn't as big for me. Maverick would be just over 30K MSRP, but still more like 4-8K less than a Forester or CR-V Hybrid (or RAV4 Hybrid).
Yeah I'm leaning more in that direction, though the '24 CR-V Hybrid reliability looks much worse than previous years (at least according to Consumer Reports), so perhaps the Forester will win out.
That's a good perspective.
Right now we have a 2001 Accord (only 86K miles but safety-wise and rust-wise, about time for an upgrade) and a 2020 Prius AWD, which we love but is a bit small for longer road trips. Ideal would probably be something like a Maverick + a small SUV, but we're going...
Thanks, and I do think it's easy to give AWD too much credit. My current car is a 2-wheel-drive Accord and it's been fine. My wife has an AWD Prius and I guess it's nice to have the help starting from a dead stop or going uphill, but it's not a game-changer.
Thanks--very similar thoughts to mine. I think the Outback is just too big/too expensive for me and a real step down in MPG (the Forester isn't terrible for non-hybrid).
So, I ordered a '24 Hybrid XLT back in August and I was very surprised to get a build date email yesterday (February 2024). But--in part because I expected more like a year's wait--I've been looking at Foresters and especially CR-V Hybrids instead these past few months.
While I've always...

Thanks, this is good to know. I live in Ohio and have a Hybrid on order (finally with a build date) but have been getting cold feet, in part because I've considered getting a CR-V Hybrid or Forester instead for the AWD advantage.
Seems like anyone's guess. I ordered three in early August and so far have only got the "sorry, keep waiting!" emails about 45 days after ordering. I think VIN/scheduled emails go out on Thursdays?
