I have a solar powered charger, which I forgot about, that can plug into a cigarette lighter socket. Anyone know if the Mav's cigarette lighter is unswitched?
Thanks for the comments. The next morning (Friday) the truck was in deep sleep but started. Saturday and Sunday the truck did not fall into deep sleep and acted normally. I have bought a jump starter pack in case the truck doesn't start (the 30 year old charger has a 50 A mode for jump starting...
Short version of history "of woe" : This morning the truck (hybrid) was totally dead. Turning the ignition key had no effect whatsoever. I had earlier received a deep sleep notification but didn't think much of it not knowing what a nightmare it would be. I put a battery charger (~30 years old)...
The lock cylinder on my truck cylinder went missing. I would like to replace it without replacing the entire lock and the extra keys I bought. I have a RetraxOne XR. Anyone know where I can buy the cylinder?
About 4k miles and 5 months of ownership. The 12V battery died mysteriously overnight two weeks ago. I assume it was my own fault, so I voted no problems so far.
I was looking at hybrids and electric vehicles generally and decided on a hybrid as the charger networks are poor especially as this would be the main car. Initially I considered a RAV4 hybrid but didn't find it compelling. When the Maverick was announced it was instantly the only thing I was...
I have inserted smaller tubes into the larger existing drain tubes and the smaller tube fits snugly in the gap and weep holes. It works well for me since I don't have a bed liner.
Do you have experience with that paint working on catalytic converters? The paint is only rated to 500 F, which as I understand is within the normal operating temperature of cats. Perhaps hybrid cats are cooler because the engine doesn't have to run all the time and because of the Atkinson cycle.
I've read on this forum that there are two catalytic converters including one that is readily accessible to a thief. When I went under my truck I confirmed that there is something that looks like a catalytic converter that is readily accessible.
The point is to deter theft because the thieves may have a harder time selling the converter. Police departments have recommended this.
I plan on etching my VIN number.
I was thinking of painting the cat as a deterrent. Any recommendations for a paint that is low fuss for this application but still holds up over the years? Ideally, I would like to spray some orange paint with minimal prep and no primer. Obviously, I don't need the paint job to be pretty.
As...
I have a hard retracting tonneau cover, a RetraxOne XR, that retracts into a canister. The canister has 2 drain lines. One drain line is near a front corner of the bed and there is enough of a gap between the various welds to run the drain line into the gap. In the other corner, there is no...
Picked up the truck today! Now to install the tonneau cover and rack that was delivered earlier this month and to pick up a storm door that arrived early,
I got my truck at Al Piemonte Ford. The salesman said they had ordered 20 Mavericks for customers last September and mine was the second to...
