My biggest gripe lies with the infotainment system as well. I'm concerned that even the aftermarket segment may not offer anything better due to the oddball way it's mounted in the dash.

I used these hooks from Amazon in its place. Work pretty well, though on the tailgate will ocassionally get hung up on the the cable. They also work really well in various points in the bed.

I'm very appreciative that Ford designed the FlexBed as they did. I started woodworking for a hobby a couple of years ago and sheets of plywood are the largest single item I haul, and they fit perfect.
Here's a couple pics from two separate excursions. One was to get some lumber and a new saw for a hobby project, and the other was our first trip to the shooting range.
Yeah, I found a loop tie down that mounts to that side of the tail gate using the existing screw and it fits alongside the tailgate support cable. A little snug, but it works
I put the tailgate strut on and my wife loves it. She's a tiny little thing so now she doesn't have to worry about losing grip or anything and it will slowly open.

Wife was in need of a travel bottle and I got lucky on guessing the correct size in the first try. It snaps in to place securely and it doesn't fight you when you try to remove it.
