I added some Pinstripes to soften the transition from the Black Truck to the White Cap, with a little Red to match the FX4 Decal. I also added some Red Tattered Flags at the Front of each Door, but maybe White Flags would blend better with the Cap being White, but I’ll let it sit for a while...
No just some sanding (60 Grit Jitterbug Sander) went pretty fast. Doesn’t look like it would need anything else at this point as far as sealing (pretty sure it won’t rust).
I don’t think the Cap can move any further towards the Cab or the Rear will start to pull over the Tail Gate. The Gap as it is between the Cap and Cab meets my expectations but as I stated I might do just a bit of finessing of the contour. I think I might look at adding a thicker Gasket under...
Well I got the modifications done to blend the cap to match the bed contour (Pictures Attached). Came out pretty good and allowed the cap to snug up to the Cap just a bit tighter. I might try to finesse it a bit more in the future but I’ll give myself some time to get used to it. I also...
I agree, to a point. I looked at the Available options and this seemed the best. The ARE Cap Gap looks really bad along the top edge facing the cab, and the Snugtop’s front Window is ridiculously small and the Cap is somewhat higher that I like. The shortcomings with this one (Ranch) is the...
Yes: They tapped into the Brake light wires at the Taillights. I know exactly what you are talking about as my Ram had that wire staged on the Harness under the bed. I don’t know if Ford was that forward thinking with the Maverick.
Before everyone jumps in, YES no one should have to do this on a $2400 Cap! But I am a “tinkerer” of sorts and just looking at it bothers me (OCPD?).
Yup, ishlers! The Opening when open and Gate down is 34”, inside height is 38”. The Height of the Door while open from Floor is 74”.
i don’t know if it will Leak but I am as worried about it being a Unibody Pickup and debris gathering between the Cab and Cap. That is why the Drop Down Window...
I agree the Gap is larger than I would have preferred but I “think” if the bottom front edge was trimmed/rounded off as mentioned above it could slide just a bit further forward towards the Cab.
The entry Height at the Door is 34”, the Interior Height is 38”.
Actually I found one immediately...
I purposefully bought a Light Color Cap as we routinely travel with our dogs (German Shepard and Doberman) and we feel a Black Cap would simply get TOO Hot. With a little Pinstriping and amending those Corners should blend it in nicely.
Just had the “Ranch” Cap installed on our Maverick. Overall the unit looks good except for the Bottom of the Front Corner where it meets the Cab - it just look’s raw and unfinished to me. As you can see there are two mild but obvious Corners where I feel it should be Rounded to match the body...
