MPG and price are the two big unknowns, but if those numbers are favorable, I could choose a 2WD Prerunner hybrid over a Maverick. I also prefer a 6-foot bed over a backseat.

I ordered September 2022, so I plan to wait longer. My back up plan is a base model Frontier. It is well equipped compared to the Maverick and has a proven drivetrain. I'm not happy about the MPG. It might be interesting if Toyota comes out with a small pickup in 2024.

Your thinking is a lot like mine. I hope to get the Maverick hybrid I ordered in September. If I get cancelled, I might be picking up a Frontier S king cab. There are some of these on the lots for around $35K. Reliability of the Frontier is a big selling point for me.
I watched Tim's 2 hour long video. He said if you ordered a hybrid on the first day, don't switch to EC. First day orders have a pretty good chance of being built. I'll reconsider if I don't get a build date next fall. Hoping my 2004 Tacoma supports me another year. #hybrid or bust.
