did you ever get a solution to this? I’m having the same exact issue with the quick flashing when it comes on. Interestingly, only the status light on the outlet in the cab flashes, the one in the bed does not flash at all. It is likely the source of my issue.

It seems like a nice idea, but I don't think the cable will last very long being smashed into that little hole. It would be nice if you could route a cable down into there easily. I might need to try some modification.
