That might be fine for sunny/no wind weather, but I can imagine the fully vertical walls would be horrible for any type of inclement weather (think Death Valley or similar). There is a reason most (good) tents have some sort of sloping walls.

What's also great about this idea is that you have options, you can either set it up as a RTT, or take it down and leave it on the ground as a base camp. Plus the cost is like 1/3 of even the cheapest RTTs.
