It's from the company Bedrug. The model I used was a XLT Bed Mat. Do a search and you'll find vendors selling them from $239 - $289. I think I used Summit Racing because I've bought stuff from them for my motorcycles and they've always done right by me.
I sold my truck yesterday and thought...
I have stained (and some painted) boards for the truck bed that I'll be getting rid of in a few weeks unless someone wants to swing by and pick them up. There are boards for all the slots in the bed. Send me a direct message and I'll set them aside for you. Definitely not worth the hassle of...
Thanks for taking the hit for the team. I'm going to contact my dealership tomorrow and request that they reach out to Ford to swap out the textured deflector for the smooth one. $79 isn't a huge price to pay to do it myself, but some principle involved here.
In terms of the bed mat, I...
Considering the same and going with some clear 3M in that space to prevent the inevitable road chips.
Someone is going to be a test case for this. Wish Ford would invest some time into exploring options.
Bedrug installed today. Dogs are going to be so much happier with a little grip back there. I like the idea of crawling around without bruising my knees.
Curious how it dries in this wet spell we're going through.
Thanks for the video. I've got the hood shakes and people in the forum kept telling me to turn the rubber bumpers. Because the shake is pronounced at the rear of the hood, I couldn't make sense of what they were saying. I thought they were talking about the non-adjustable bumpers on the sides...
Since originally posting in October, it hasn't gone away and Ford hasn't been able to do much about it. A lot of people think I'm joking about the issue, but I'm not! In all honesty, it hasn't been that big of a deal because I haven't had the need to get behind the seat. Once latched after...
Driving under 70mph around here and I'm likely to get rear-ended 10+ times on the way to work. The flow of traffic is 75mph on the stretch of I-80 that I commute.
Can't comment on what the truck drove like before deflector as it was installed before I picked it up. To answer your question about hood shake, it's been an ongoing issue. This is my truck:
I've been in the the local dealership a couple of times. They acknowledge the hood flutter and sent me over to the body shop department. To this point, they've tightened the hinges on the hood. They said that the hinges were originally loose, but tightening them didn't eliminate the hood...
Just something my girlfriend passed along to me. Most of my driving is on the highway, so regular unleaded there. My gut feeling is that the truck responds better to premium around town with quick accelerations, but I don't have any science behind me to support my gut.
I didn't get any bubbles. Not sure about method, but I put them on after washing with soap and water. I could see where bubbles might have arisen, but I was really caution about going slow and pushing them out at the moment. I was keeping the stickers taught (while trying not to stretch them)...
So... I hear you saying that Ford needs to give me a tailgate spoiler to balance out the truck?
Seriously, any ideas without having put eyes on the situation? Weights? Some washers under the hood? What's happening can't be good for the metal.
Awaiting word from my local dealership on how...
Around-town driving for a day. Mileage isn't great in these situations. I've had it for two weeks now. By the end of the week, I'm up to 24-25 MPG after doing plenty of freeway driving. I do have pangs of regret about not going with the hybrid. Fill-up at week was $70 for premium (I'll be...
I think as long as you're in reasonable temperatures, you'll be okay with the adherence. Press lightly and go slow, placing the edges exactly where you want them and then pressing down is the key. If I were to do it over, I'd start with the easy letters (I, V, C, and A) for practice and then...
Yeah, I just walked outside and looked at it more closely. The latch isn't moving no matter how hard the harness is pulled. Should be a fairly quick fix for Ford.
I just mentioned it here because the first few times I heard the noise it scared the crap out of me. Now I just find it a...
You're patient. That's a good sign. Make sure you harness that patience when putting them on and go slow. It would be fairly easy to stretch these out and make it look shoddy. Good luck!
This may or may not be related. When coming to stops or slowing down, I kept hearing a thunking. Turns out, it was the back seat flopping forward and then hitting the rear of the cabin (see video)! Could that be what you're hearing?
A word of caution - as I was reading through this forum about a pronounced hood shake, I found a post where Ford acknowledged that the hood air deflector may be a contributing factor. I'd be curious if someone with NO hood shake added a hood deflector and then started to experience hood shake...
