That is pretty shitty, and I am sorry to hear thats your experience. That to me is more on the dealer than Ford, and 100% should be made right. To me, that risk of dealing with that issue is worth the peace of mind knowing the potentially larger issue of a critical safety feature not working...
People who are smarter than truck owners on an internet forum determined it was a big enough safety concern to issue a very costly recall program at no cost to owners. That's enough for me to protect myself and my family. I would not listen to strangers on the internet over them when it comes...
I am having a similar issue I am trying to resolve, I posted about it a few days ago. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/usb-intermittent-errors-both-ports-cause-crackling-audio-and-communication-drop-known-issue.28934/
I hope the same for you as well. If you take it to a good dealer they will take care of you. These forums are always skewed to the bad experiences and not the good ones because who gets online and says "I got my recall done and there was no damage!". LOL its just expected, and I would wager...

What kind of phone?
Android but, does not matter, happens with phone or USB stick loaded with songs, not device related.
Does the phone position/location seem to impact performance?
No, I have plugged devices into the USB slot as well as the mini USB slot, I have wiggled them around to try to...
I have used both the usb and mini usb port and have had issues with both. I have used various usb cords as well as a jump drive and have had the same issue with both. is there a know error for early builds with usb issues? My dealer could not ID the issue or reproduce the error. I do not...
It was mostly highway but i have a big hilli drive down to start my trip and charge up the battery. I then coast/battery only as long as possible. Drive bak up the hill is closer to 38-40 mpg for the trip. Still fantastic on average.
I think its because it can't decide between the old Maverick sedan and the new Maverick Truck, that's why I had to add the pickup part. It is def like taking a tiktac, and too funny not to share.
