Dear @Ford Motor Company
It has now been a year and a half since I purchased my Maverick.
Still 3 safety issues remain unresolved.
On the fire safety recall it seems Ford is trying to just delay this and make it go away. Like the Powershift transmission fiasco.
We need new engines or new...
It came in yesterday but I wasn't feeling well. I purchased a Steeda Strut Tower Brace. It came professionally wrapped,, as it is powder coated. It took about 30 minutes to install with 2 bolts, 2 spacers and 2 washers. Had to relocate a wiring harness.
The Results:
Took it out for a 30 mile...
The Maverick is now a year young. It has been reliable, no issues in day to day driving. Has only been to the dealer for recalls and TSB's. It's a easy vehicle to live with. Below are my pros and cons that are worth mentioning.
Let's start with the Cons:
Plastic panels that scratch real easy...
Went for the above mentioned TSB Tuesday. It was a positive experience, my service advisor Shawn got me in and out in bit under 2 hours. Brakes feel pretty much the same except for the exchange between the regenerative brakes and the friction brakes which is now smoother. I won't say perfect...
Went and washed the Maverick today. Went for a nice drive on a sunny winter afternoon. It was a drive mostly to remove moisture. There is a country lane close to my house with an older section of the road that has mottled pavement. The suspension did a great job on that section. Steered nice...
Last Saturday night on my 35 mile drive home was with a dead cold engine at 17°F . Usually on this drive on the combo of 8 miles of 60 mph country highways, 25 miles of Interstate that I drive with the cruise set at 68 mph and 2 miles of intown to get to my address. I set the heat to 68°F...
Yes time flies. The Maverick is approaching 5000 miles in 6 months.
The powertrain is the reason you would buy it. The MPG's keep improving without driving like a ninny. The hybrid engine much appreciates 91 octane fuel. It runs smoother and gets better MPG (+4) using 91 octane E0. The...
Does the Hybrid Maverick have a heat pump for heating? Of does it use a resistive electrical heater or both? Probably been asked before, but I missed it. Curious because of some observations made on several recent trip in cooler weather.
I'll start it off with todays fill
547.00 miles / 13.477 gallons = 40.7 mpg
65% highway or interstate
rest was <10mile trips in town.
Price was after $1.10 in fuel saver rewards at grocery store.
The indash display said 43.1 mpg
Finally had a chance to take a decent drive today by myself. It was a beautiful day for a drive in the MIssouri River bottom on State Hwy 210 east of Kansas City Metro. This is a very flat road for about 35 mi with a 60 mph speed limit. There was the usual 20-30 mph Spring wind hitting me at...
My Cactus Gray Maverick is finally in Production 8 months (July 1, 2021 order) since ordering. Accessed the window sticker and all seems correct. Wishing good luck to all who are still waiting. Hoping for a Early April delivery.
Saw a Cyber Orange Maverick in the wild. No pics because I was on the Motorcycle. Looked nice it was a FX4. I think he wanted to race a bit from a couple of stop signs. Seemed to go down the road smoothly. Wish it was a sunny day so I could comment on the color. It pulled into a residential...
Gave up on Ford and bought a different hybrid yesterday. Why? I went to the dealer and found out I was at the bottom of the totem pole for hybrid scheduling at my dealer. July 1st and my order just sits and there are 3 ahead of me. Figuring it will be at least 3 more months minimum before I see...
