Why would they do this when order banks are not open? In practice, it's doesn't seem like it should impact many (if they are protected). So...maybe..either:
a) A growing % of customers are not accepting their orders
b) Order banks going to open soon again
c) Can't think of another (insert good...
FWIW: There was one for $3K over MSRP for a Lariat Tremor fairly loaded from Tasca Ford, Dickson City PA on 1/19. That price was confirmed with local sales rep. Looks like it has sold since then.
With many getting scheduled in February and March, if ADM doesn't disappear or greatly diminish by April / May, not sure when it would. And there will be an opening (mileage varies on how big) where EB orders will be fulfilled prior to MY2024 order banks opening, that at least should present...
Will be interesting to see what happens to pricing for the hybrids now in dealership lots. If you're on the hunt for a hybrid, it feels like the highest ADMs are behind us, and in 3 months or so, you might be in position to score a better price than you locked in with your order. Maybe..
Based on highest VIN recorded, overwhelming hybrid order activity yesterday, and other recent insight, does this projection change at all? I'm thinking no since it just seems like they might have more planned capacity to build hybrids but would like your take.
I still think it's possible they open up order banks for MY2023s for EBs early summer time frame since they could build all the EBs in the next 4 months or so that have already been ordered. Consensus on comments here is Ford would more likely just build stock for dealerships with remaining...
Sorry if already mentioned, my searching skills are not so great. Can anybody ballpark the percentage of orders that are actually picked up by the ordering customer? Happy Saturday!
So what happens in that scenario? Does the dealer know that immediately and will reject an order and send the customer to a different dealer? Do they just wait for the next month and hope the allocation gods give them more? I'm "assuming" (we all know the trouble with that) a dealer would...
Alright Mr. Commodore 64, riddle me this... :)
Is there a scenario where dealerships on average don't have many remaining Maverick allocations after their September 2022 orders? I am assuming allocations are a cap, not a minimum, which could be completely wrong. Where I'm going is if many...
My only point is that typically you price to meet your desired demand (in this case capacity). And for the corporate head who has P/L responsibility for the Maverick, I'm sure every dollar / margin counts. I don't see the logic in intentionally creating more demand when you don't have the...
But doesn't this conflict with laws of supply and demand? Why wouldn't Ford either a: charge a whole lot more for it, b: figure out better supply or c: cut off orders, if CAFE were the primary motivator? I get it could have been the initial diver, but leaving that much demand and/or revenue on...
True...but...why not milk the 2023 feature set for EBs ahead of anticipated Fall 2024 release if you got room to do so? Since people have already gotten 2023s, it could really be potentially in 4 months time. And with the hybrid, how will they release a hybrid version in 2024 when math tells...
Let's have some fun with math :)
Ignoring for now any specific accessory related constraints, and just sticking to the hybrid engine, you can use the percentages of orders and capacity to assume estimated times when all builds will be complete. See pic below. I know this is an...
So...why bother cut off orders if odds are many orders roll to MY2023? They will be delivering trucks nearly 1 year out, why not keep feeding the funnel? Thinking either a) they really will finish building all the existing orders before MY23 or b) they're not happy with the way the ordering...
