So some things to note. Ford would be running out of the current credits by the time the maverick plugin would be released. The maverick plugin will also most likely get the 13.8 kWh battery the escape gets, so it would yield under $7500 like the escape.

2% over MY22 is actually pretty good if it was before the July price increase assuming MY23 doesn't have any additional price increases. Rumors say there are no more increases but maybe it's just wishful thinking.
I'm ordering from Autonation Torrance and they guaranteed MSRP. I talked to another user here that picked their truck up a month or 2 ago from the same dealer at MSRP.
I'm on the same boat. Always had a soft spot for the Ranger and fell in love with it when I saw the new one in Europe. I'm going to place an order for a Mav though, and if they come out with a PHEV or Hybrid Ranger, I'm likely just going to flip or cancel my Mav.

You both are kind of right. The Santa Cruz doesn't have a vertical wall towards the cab. It slopes into the bed at the top. The top of the bed to the tailgate is 48", the bottom of the bed to the tailgate is 51". This is without the tonneau cover.
Don't have a maverick but I prefer any shifter that allows you to open up the center console. My old seqouia had a steering column shifter, that would be a good compromise. I really like the Mercedes/Tesla column shifters though.
